Chapter 48 Th Golden Card
At the entrance of the store, Claudia quickly walked in with three steps and two steps.
The waiter glanced at her a few times and noticed that she was dressed simply and her clothes were not branded. He thought she was just here for a leisurely stroll.
No one came forward to provide her with service.
Claudia didn’t mind either and quickly walked to the formal wear section. Just as she was about to pick up a dress, she was stopped by a nearby waiter: “Hey, miss, this dress is 80 thousand dollars and there is no discount.”
Claudia’s hand paused, ready to take off another one, but was stopped by the waiter shouting, “This one is more expensive, 130 thousand dollars!”
Claudia put down her hand and pointed at an item casually, saying, “You take that one, I want this one.”
The waiter remained motionless, as if she hadn’t heard a word.
Claudia was not angry either. She used to frequently order formal dresses from this store, most of which were designed by the owner. Many times, the owner would personally come to her house to tailor the dresses for her, so it was normal for the people in the store to not recognize her.
But she was in a hurry and didn’t have the patience to explain so much. Seeing the waiter not moving, she simply reached out and took one herself.
The waiter did not expect her to take action directly.
“Miss, if you damage our clothes, you will have to compensate us at the original price,” she reminded bluntly.
Just as Claudia was about to retaliate, a voice interrupted.
“This dress is nice,” Rosalie said to the waiter next to her, as if she hadn’t seen Claudia. “I want the one she has.”
“Alright, Ms. Clayton,” the waiter walked over with a cheerful smile and sna tched it away from Claudia’s hand.
Rosalie looked around, touched the fabric, and hinted, “I’ll take this dress. It’s perfect for my wedding toast outfit, along with the wedding dress I just tried on.”
“Alright, Ms. Clayton!” The waiter beamed and quickly packed up the dress without even glancing at Claudia.
Claudia sneered and picked up another one, only to have it sna tched away by Rosalie in the same manner
“Ms. Clayton, your habit of snat ching things from others hasn’t changed at all,” Claudia’s smile didn’t reach her eyes.
“You would only be living on thin air if you bought these things with your current income level. I’m doing this for your own good,” Rosalie said to the waiter. “Please wrap all of these up.”
“Okay, okay.”
“Miss, please make way.” The waiter rudely pushed Claudia hard.
Claudia stumbled, and Rosalie stuck out a foot to trip her. Just as Claudia was about to fall, suddenly a hand tried to grab her, but she ended up tripping them both.
The “cus hion” beneath her was soft and elastic. Claudia moved her hand and felt a firm pectoral muscle.
“Have you not had enough yet?” Edmond’s cold voice rang out.
Claudia was startled all over, and as she looked up, she collided straight into someone’s deep eyes.
Immediately after, my heart started pounding.
A scream interrupted her thoughts.
It was the voice of the waiter.
The waiter immediately pulled Claudia to the side and discreetly observed Ms. Clayton’s expression.
Ms. Clayton was an esteemed guest and we couldn’t afford to upset her over this poor fellow.
“Security, throw this woman out!” the waiter angrily shouted at the security guard.
The security guard immediately came over and dragged Claudia out.
Claudia struggled hard and said, “Let go, I’ll walk by myself.”
Seeing her in such a disheveled state, Rosalie burst into laughter and gave the waiter an appreciative look.
The two security guards exerted great force and firmly held her.
Just then, Edmond’s voice rang out, “Let her go.”
The security guards looked at each other, and the waiter immediately explained, “Mr. Lamont, this person came in and started touching the clothes in the store everywhere, just looking but not buying. He even
fought with Ms. Clayton to try on clothes just now.”
Edmond glanced at Rosalie, and she lowered her head in frustration, saying, “I didn’t expect that every time I liked something, she would choose the same thing. It must be just a coincidence, Ms. Lloyd couldn’t have done it on purpose.”
“She did it on purpose!” the waiter raised his voice and sneered, “I’ve seen too many people like her, relying on their good looks to hang around luxury stores and seduce wealthy men, unwilling to work hard and hoping to soar to the sky with the help of men. Ms. Clayton, I think you are just too kind-hearted…”
Watching these two people talking nonsense with their eyes wide open, Claudia was about to applaud on the spot.
She was amazed by the performance of the duet.
“Rosalie, your ability to tell lies with your eyes open has become more and more impressive.”
If it weren’t for attending the Friedan family dinner, she would have complained to the waiter right on the spot, but now Derrick is waiting for her in the car.
The most important thing now is to buy the clothes as soon as possible.
She pointed at a piece of clothing and said to the waiter, “Wrap this up and check out.”
The waitress looked at the dress, which was the most expensive gown in the store. She sarcastically reminded, “Miss, this dress is a limited. edition in the store, priced at 500 thousand dollars. Are you sure you want to buy it?”
“500 thousand dollars, ah…” Claudia dragged out her voice,
The waiter laughed out.
Sure enough, most people would be scared off when they heard this price.
A pauper is just a pauper.
“If you can’t afford it, then you can’t afford it. Why pretend to be rich?” The waiter lifted his chin and sneered disdainfully.
“I thought it was much more expensive!” Claudia smirked, smiling seductively. “Your arrogant tone made me think this dress was not 500 thousand dollars, but 5 million dollars.”
The waiter said coldly, “Well, you can’t afford it either. Don’t even talk about 500 thousand dollars, you can’t even come up with 50 thousand dollars.”
“Is that so?”
Claudia sneered as she took out a card from her bag.
Seeing this gold card, the waiter’s expression froze for a moment, thinking that he had made a mistake.
This card was only available to their VVIP customers, who had to spend 8 million dollars in their store to own it.
“Is this enough now?” Claudia’s clearly defined fingers pinched the card and waved it in front of her eyes.
Seeing this card, Rosalie’s face changed.
Claudia is currently broke, let alone 500 thousand dollars, even 5,000 dollars is mostly spent from Edmond’s money.
Edmond divorced her, but she still wanted to spend his money. How
shameless!
“Sorry, I had already ordered this dress before you arrived,” she walked over to Edmond, taking his arm. “Edmond, I really like this skirt and was thinking of wearing it at the engagement banquet.”
Claudia chuckled and finally took a good look at Edmond.
He was wearing a navy blue suit, which accentuated his inverted triangle figure. He usually dressed casually, but this suit elevated his temperament and appearance by a few degrees.
He was already good-looking, and this outfit added a touch of maturity to him. Other people in the store would occasionally steal glances at him.
It seems like good things are coming soon. Everyone came to accompany Rosalie to try on wedding dresses.
I really couldn’t wait.
She calmly looked at Rosalie and said, “I will buy whatever you buy. Are you planning to buy all the clothes in this store?”
“What are you still hesitating for?” she said to the waiter, “Hurry up and wrap up all the clothes in your store. Ms. Clayton wants them all.”
