“That’s impossible!” exclaimed Sophia from the stairwell. She had a fair complexion and
was still in her pajamas. “There’s no way I would let them get back together, absolutely
not!” she ran out.
“My goodness, be careful with your stomach!” Violet was worried about her
granddaughter. Violet was extremely concerned as she tossed down the remote
control and followed Sophia almost all the way out.
“Sherry!” Malcolm had just walked out of the door when he noticed Sherry standing on
the side of the road, not far from the villa, walking and gazing into the distance as if
waiting for someone.
“Sherry, I called you; why aren’t you saying anything?” he said as he caught up to her.
He pulled Sherry back and almost knocked her off her feet.

She freed herself from Malcolm’s grip and muttered in fragments, “There’s nothing I
need to say to you; if you keep pulling and dragging me like this, I’ll really sue you.”

“OK,” Malcolm said as he let go of her hand, “I was too impatient that day and almost
hurt you; I promise I won’t do that again. Sherry, I knew you’d come to find me; I’ve been
waiting for you.”
Sherry furrowed her brows significantly and asked, “How did you know I would come?”
“Because your ID card, household registration book, and other items, as well as our
marriage certificate, were left in my car that day; don’t worry; I’ve kept them safe for
you. I apologize to you. We won’t divorce, okay? Don’t be sulky.”
Sherry burst out laughing. “Do you think I want a divorce just to throw a tantrum?” “Mr.
Ford, you really underestimate me and overestimate yourself.”
Sherry took a stroll along the street. She had been walking this route for four years and
was very familiar with every turn. If her uncle takes a taxi, he should arrive at the next
intersection.

Her gaze was fixed on the passing cabs, ready to hail her uncle as soon as she spotted
him.
Malcolm became concerned when he noticed that she was distracted. “Alright, alright,
you didn’t throw a tantrum. I said the wrong thing. What do you want me to do to calm
down?” he coaxed. “Are you angry that I bought a car for Sophia? I can explain. She
insisted on it, and since she’s pregnant, she needs a mode of transportation, so I
agreed. I didn’t expect to run into you at the vehicle management office that day.”
Malcolm buzzed around her like a bee, while Sherry tried to prevent him from reaching
out to touch her hand and also had to keep an eye on the cars on the road. She was
quite irritated.
“It’s none of my business, Mr. Ford, who you buy a car for; I don’t want to know why, and
you don’t have to tell me.”
“You’re still angry with me,” Malcolm took a step forward, grabbed her shoulder, and
leaned in close, saying, “Sherry, I’ll buy one for you too. Did you become a car model at
the auto show because you also like cars? What kind of car do you like? Sedan, sports
car, or SUV? How about a Porsche? Or a Ferrari? I’ll buy whatever you want.”

keep saying you want a divorce, pretending to be righteous, but in reality, you’re playing
a game of wanting and rejecting. Refusing you in front of others, then coming to the
Ford family to seduce him yourself. Sherry, why do you think you can compete with

two-can handle it on your own; I won’t mind.”
He didn’t want Malcolm getting involved in this anymore.

still afraid. What if Sherry decides to hurt me? Can you stay and protect me?”
“She wouldn’t hurt you,” Malcolm said, laughing as if he had heard a joke. “Don’t I know
her personality? Only you have the ability to harm her! She is concerned about the child.
Even if she intends to hurt you, she won’t do it now.”
Malcolm wasn’t being foolish this time, Sherry scoffed, for he had finally seen Sophia’s
true colors.
Sophia was always skilled at twisting the situation; even if she made the first move, she
would eventually make it look like she was the victim.
Sherry took Sophia’s hand and pulled her away from Malcolm.
“Mr. Ford, I have something to say to Sherry. Please leave.”
