Remarrying into Wealth By Bennett Snider Chapter 66

Chapter 66

“Release her!” Malcolm shouted.

Somehow, Malcolm had appeared outside the obstetrics and gynecology clinic.

Sophia’s operating room was far away from here. Shouldn’t he be guarding them there?

How did he end up here?

Sherry pushed Mr. Sniper away, signaling for him to let her go.

But Mr. Sniper showed no intention of releasing her. Instead, he held her tighter, clearly

asserting his possession.

Malcolm’s expression instantly changed, and tension arose between the two men.

Sherry struggled, but she couldn’t break free from his grip. She could only resign herself

to his embrace and say, “Let’s go.”

“No, you can’t leave!” Malcolm rushed forward to block Mr. Sniper’s path, sneering,

*Sherry, you are still my wife. You are carrying another man’s child, and you think you

can just walk away like this?”

His voice was loud, immediately drawing the attention of many people around him.

Outside the obstetrics and gynecology clinic, there were many pregnant women and

their families waiting for consultations. The area fell silent, and all eyes were fixed on

them.

Countless gazes focused on her, making Sherry feel uneasy. She frowned and

whispered, “Malcolm, this is a hospital. If you want to cause a scene, go outside and

don’t disturb others.”

Malcolm’s eyes turned cold. “Terminate the pregnancy.”

“It’s impossible.”

“Go and terminate it! Your sister almost had a miscarriage because of your uncle. She is

still in critical condition, and I have already reported it to the police. They should have

caught him by now. If you don’t get rid of the child, I will make sure your uncle stays in

prison for life.”

Sherry was shocked. She pushed Mr. Sniper away and jumped out of his arms. “What

did you say?”

“I said get rid of the child!” Malcolm stepped forward, ready to grab her.

But Mr. Sniper was faster. He quickly pushed Malcolm’s hand away and shielded Sherry

behind him. “Mr. Ford, please show some respect.”

“What respect do I need when talking to my own wife? And you, Sherry, are my wife.

What are you? A wanted criminal, right? Why didn’t the police arrest you too?”

“Malcolm!” Sherry shouted, “If you have time to bother me, why don’t you go and check

on Sophia?”

“She’s waiting for a blood transfusion. Didn’t you say you would donate blood to save

the child in her womb? Why aren’t you donating blood now? You were just talking all

high and mighty earlier, but now you’re backing down.”

Just as she was about to speak, Mr. Sniper interrupted her, saying, “Sherry, I’ll handle it.”

“But you…”

“It’s fine,” Malcolm supported her, gently wrapping his arm around her to protect her from the crowd’s pushing and shoving. He stood tall and composed, and he said,

“Malcolm, you know the reasons behind divorcing Sherry lie within yourself. You know how you and your mother drove her out of the house, leaving her homeless. If you’re

not satisfied, you can go to court, but you also need to think clearly. Once this matter enters the legal process, half of your post-marital property will have to be given to

Sherry. Is your stingy mother willing to accept that? Are you willing to accept that? How

about we both compromise and avoid all this trouble? What do you think?”

Malcolm listened silently, clenching his teeth throughout the entire conversation.

He understood in his heart that Sherry’s attitude clearly indicated that she wanted a

divorce. Even if she had a lover outside and was pregnant, he himself had an affair with

Sophia. If it came to court, the blame would lie with him, and the distribution of

post-marital property would likely favor Sherry.

He was just trying to scare her, hoping she would submit. He didn’t expect this man to

have some eloquence.

Malcolm gritted his teeth in anger. “Sherry and I will not divorce. I don’t mind if she has

an abortion. I will live a good life with her. Divorce is out of the question.”

“So, does that mean you will help me raise our son?” Mr. Sniper spoke lightly, with a

faint smile. “When did Mr. Ford become so kind-hearted?”

“Stop it! You’re just trying to drive a wedge between Sherry and me! Sherry, I’ve already

told you today that I’ve ended things with Sophia, and we can start over. I won’t hold

anything against you and this lover of yours, as long as you come back.”

Leaning on Mr. Sniper’s arm, Sherry couldn’t help but feel how foolish she had been in

the past.

How blind was she to hope for someone like Malcolm to change? She had hoped for

four years!

Malcolm didn’t want to split his property and even wanted to use her uncle’s safety to threaten her. If she compromised and had an abortion, would he still kick her out and

drive her away once again?

Chapter 66 Ripple Effect

She had fallen for such a scheme once, but she would never fall for it a second time.

“Let it go, Mr. Ford. Let’s not burn bridges. It’s not good for us if we focus too much on the details,” Sherry said. “Rest assured, as long as you quickly go with me to handle the

divorce procedures, I won’t ask for a single penny of the Ford family’s assets. What you

do with Sophia is your business, and it has nothing to do with me from now on. I did say that I wanted to donate blood to save her child, but now I’m also pregnant. I really want

to help, but I can’t do it at the expense of my own child.”

Malcolm smirked coldly. “If you don’t donate blood, Sophia’s child will be lost, and your

uncle will surely be in prison.”

“Malcolm, you…”

“Sherry, I’ve always spoken to you kindly and begged you to come back. If you’re not

willing, don’t blame me for being unfair. If you want to save your uncle, then listen to

me, terminate the pregnancy, and come back to me.”

“Are you threatening me, Malcolm?”

“I have no other choice. It’s because you’re too disobedient. I just want you to come

back.

Mr. Sniper suddenly laughed. “Well, in that case, I’ll have to pay a visit to the Securities Regulatory Bureau tomorrow.”

Malcolm immediately frowned. “What do you mean?”

The Ford Group engaged in private manipulation of stock prices, resulting in numerous

investors losing everything they had. Tragically, some individuals even resorted to

suicide as a result of these actions. Mr. Ford, have you ever considered the future of

those who have lost their money due to your actions?

This statement sparked a tremendous outcry

Five years ago, there was a significant upheaval in the stocks of Ford Group, resulting in

substantial financial losses for most investors in Herzoslovakia City. This event was a

major occurrence at the time, but Malcolm bribed those who expressed their concerns,

leaving the remaining investors to suffer the consequences.

Upon hearing this revelation, some onlookers exclaimed, “So the stocks of Ford Group

were manipulated? My family lost over a hundred thousand dollars. That was my

father’s life savings! Do you have any sense of morality left?”

Chapter 1 Fallopian Tube Obstruction “What did I say? It’s your problem that you can’t conceive! Now that the test results are out, let’s see what you have to say!” Sherry Wilson’s grip on the test report wavered. When she saw the words “Blocked Fallopian Tubes” inscribed on it, she felt a chill from head to toe. After four years of marriage to Malcolm Ford, she still couldn’t get pregnant. Her mother-in-law pointed at her, with a furious look, implying that she was about to devour her. People passing by glanced at her as if she were a joke, pointing and gossiping, adding to the chaos. Malcolm was the only son of the Ford family, and she understood her mother-in-law’s desire for a grandson. So she had silently endured it all this time. “Mom,” Sherry said patiently, “let’s go home and talk.” “That’s my home, not yours. Get it straight! I have never recognized you as a member of the Ford family. You’re not worthy!” Her mother-in-law’s words were venomous. Sherry closed her eyes, feeling helpless. “We are legally married, and we have a marriage certificate.” “I’m telling you, Sherry, divorce Malcolm immediately! You won’t get a penny of the Ford family’s wealth!” As more people gathered around her, the sweltering weather and their piercing stares made her feel even more humiliated. Sherry took a deep breath, feeling helpless and hopeless.
