Chapter 14
“Kylie, why are you here?” Sergio protected Perla behind him, in a protective stance.
“I’m here to clean up,” Kylie replied, her tone indifferent and devoid of emotion.
She felt a numbness inside her.
There should not be any emotional fluctuations for this pair. They do not deserve it.
Ignoring the presence of Sergio and Perla in the office, Kylie walked straight towards them, her gaze fixed on Perla.
With a hint of sarcasm, she remarked, “You really like second–hand goods that much, Perla? Once I clean up, would you prefer something new?”
Her words carried a double entendre, alluding to both their personal relationship and the professional context.
Caught off guard by the remark, Perla blushed in embarrassment, her cheeks turning a shade of pink.
“Kylie, Perla just came to the company to appreciate our new season’s fashion show, and I brought her to visit your office. Don’t think too much about it,” Sergio explained.
Kylie responded with a mocking tone, her words laced with bitterness. “When can I be thought to be thinking too much, Sergio? Until you are sleeping in the same bed?” Her remark hinted at the past intimacy they had shared.
“I’m not talking about my relationship with Perla,” Sergio’s expression changed, “I’m talking about your job. Don’t be so sarcastic.
“Besides, I told you yesterday that you can come back anytime. I’ve kept your position. at the Moore Group for you. Consider it compensation, Sergio seemed magnanimous.
A smile crept onto Kylie’s lips, but it held no warmth.
Who made the Moore Group what it was today?
He thought she would still rely on the Moore Group and be grateful for his “kindness“?
“No need,” Kylie replied, her voice firm and resolute. She looked directly at Sergio, emphasizing each word. “I have already submitted my resignation to the HR department. From now on, you, and the Moore Group, have no relationship with me.”
Sergio felt threatened by her declaration and tried to regain control. “Kylie, don’t think you can act recklessly.”
other’s future life, Don’t be so hostile towards Sergio,” Perla joined in.
“I’m considering Perla’s feelings. I don’t want things to be too embarrassing for everyone. We’re still relatives in the future.”
The two of them harmonized.
Kylie could not help but laugh, “I think of a sentence that suits you, ‘wanting to be a prostitute but also wanting to be virtuous.”
Both Sergio and Perla were taken aback by her words, their faces displaying shock and anger. “Kylie!” Sergio exclaimed, his voice filled with frustration.
“Kylie.” Perla sighed, disappointed by her response.
“A qualified ex should act like a dead person.” Kylie looked at them coldly. “The main point is, I don’t care about the compensation you’ve given me.”
Turning her attention to Perla, Kylie locked eyes with her and spoke with a cutting. clarity. “And as for you, don’t think I don’t know what game you’re playing. You’re trying to take over Galaxy Group by having me stay at the Moore Group? You’re dreaming.”
Sergio and Perla did think too highly of themselves.
They underestimated her, thinking they could manipulate her into working for Sergio while plotting to seize what rightfully belonged to her.
But Kylie knew better. Such favorable outcomes didn’t happen in the real world. She was no longer willing to compromise.
“Kylie, how can you think of me and Sergio this way? We genuinely care about you. If you don’t accept our goodwill, is it because you’ve fallen for that firefighter?” Perla’s biggest skill was putting on an innocent face while speaking nonsense.
Sergio chuckled at Perla’s words, finding amusement in the situation.
Perla, with a seemingly kind tone, continued, “Kylie, no matter how you compromise, you shouldn’t just find any man, especially one with a child…”
But Kylie remained unfazed,/her resolve unyielding. She had made up her mind, and their attempts to sway her were in vain. “Any man I’m with is open and aboveboard. How about you?” Kylie mocked.
“Feelings don’t have a sequence. The one who is not loved is the third wheel,” Perla justified. “And Sergio and I love each other.”
“You’re right, feelings in

and decency in a relationship. When someone loses all sense of shame, what else can I say?”
“Enough, Kylie!” Sergio could not stand it.
“I don’t want any of these things,” Kylie suddenly decided not to clean up. She coldly left a remark, “They are too dirty.”
After saying that, she left.
Perla’s eyes turned red.
Kylie was in such a state, and yet, she could still be so arrogant.
Perla could not stand Kylie’s perpetually aloof demeanor, as if nothing could defeat her.
She really wanted to tear Kylie’s face apart.
“Perla,” Sergio hugged her sympathetically and said, “Don’t mind her. She just can’t stand us being happy.”
Kylic breathed a sigh of relief as she left the Moore Group.
There really was nothing worth lingering or taking away.
She returned to Galaxy Group.
And she directly entered the Ms. Stafford’s office.
The office had been cleaned up.
Kylie didn’t know if Cohen was genuinely threatened by her or if he had another plot, but she sat calmly in the chair, dialing the internal line, “Come to my office.”
“Yes.”
Soon…
A flamboyantly dressed female secretary appeared in front of Kylic.
Cohen really could not change his taste. After so many years, his aesthetic was still this vulgar.
“At 2 p.m. this afternoon, gather all departments for a meeting. It is to briefly prepare the basic situation of each department…” Kylie gave instructions without looking at her.
“Have you noted everything?” Kylie asked.
The secretary wrote in a hurry and was messy.

After a while, she responded to Kylie, “Noted.”
“After notifying evervene, prepare a cup of black coffee without sugar for me.”
“Yes.”
The secretary turned to leave.
“What’s your name?”
“Kiana Leon.”
“You can go.”
“Yes.”
The moment Kiana left the office, her expression changed.
Back at her desk, she used her nails adorned with diamonds to type a message, saying, [It’s so annoying.]
[What happened?]
[Your daughter came and assigned me a bunch of tasks, and even gave me a bad look!] Kiana typed on the keyboard angrily.
[What did she assign?]
Kiana sent Kylie’s instructions to Cohen.
Cohen sneered.
Kylie was a bit smarter than he thought, at least she knew how to understand the company’s situation.
Unfortunately, all the heads of the departments were his men, and she could not make anyone do anything.
“Can you comfort me?” Kiana coquettishly.
“I’m transferring you 4,000 dollars. Buy yourself a bag.”
Kiana instantly smiled, saying some flattering words to Cohen. She didn’t forget to add. “You said that within three months, you can come back. I’ll serve your daughter for three months, not a day more. She seems to want to boss me around.”
“You sly little fox.”
At 2 p.m., everyone was in the senior office of Galaxy Group.
Chapter 14
Kylie got straight to the point, “On my first day at work, I didn’t understand many things about the company. I hope everyone can give me a simple work report, starting with HR.”
Mark Robinson, the director of the HR department, said, “Sorry, Madam, the time is too rushed. My department hasn’t organized everything yet. I’ll report to you separately
tomorrow.”
Kylie glanced at Mark.
Mark remained unruffled, looking calm.
“The group department,” Kylie called out the next one.
“There are too many and too complicated projects. My department is still organizing,” the director explained.
“The marketing department?”
“The director is still on the front line and hasn’t returned yet. I dare not go beyond my authority,” the deputy director acted as if it were a matter of course.
“Is the finance department not ready either?”
“Not ready.” No pleasantries.
Kylie looked at Perla.
Perla was the director of the design department, and due to the pending appointment of the general manager, Perla remained in her previous position. The general manager position was temporarily vacant.
Perla stood up, saying obediently, “I’m ready. I will report to you.”
Kylie nodded.
She was not touched.
Perla was used to appearing harmless in front of others.
For almost an hour, Perla elaborated on her latest fashion designs..
“Ready for production next month?” Kylie asked.
“Everything is ready, just waiting for the marketing campaign before going public.”
“No need to rush. There are still areas that can be modified.”
Perla showed a trace of displeasure in her
eyes.
Chapter 14
She knew Kylie would intentionally make things difficult for her.
“Is modification needed?” Mark suddenly spoke up. “Perla’s designs have always led the market’s trends. Yo
don’t understand anything and want to meddle in design matters?
“This design is perfectly in line with the current trend elements. It will surely be a big seller once it hits the market!”
“Ms. Stafford, you shouldn’t interfere in design matters. Perla won awards internationally last year, ranking fifth globally and second in our continent. Just the reputation of her being ‘Lilac‘ could increase our brand value tenfold!”
Lilac was Perla?
Having been in this industry for many years, Kylie had naturally heard of this name.
Perla modestly said, “I didn’t achieve the top spot in our continent, and I’m ashamed.
“The first in our continent but not globally?” Kylie spoke frankly.
