Chapter 15
Perla felt a bit embarassed.
In fact, the mysterious and low–key designer, Lovely, had been the reigning champion for three consecutive seasons. Perla, on the other hand, had barely made it to the top five last year, highlighting a significant difference in their design prowess.
However, despite this disparity, Perla’s achievement was unprecedented within the Galaxy Group, and all employees blindly admired her. The staff members revered her without questioning her abilities.
“Why don’t you just be a hands–off boss? That way, everyone can relax,” Mark summarized amid a barrage of criticism.
He didn’t hide his sarcasm towards Kylic.
Perla secretly chuckled, finding amusement in the situation.
Did Kylie really think she could have a good time taking back Galaxy Group?
Except for Kelton, everyone here was a trusted aide of hers and her father’s. If Kylie wanted to turn the tide, she should feel honored for being the chairman for a full three months.
“I used to work at the Moore Group… Kylie began, trying to assert her expertise.
Mark interrupted her, continuing his mocking tone. “The Moore Group is indeed a leader in high–end fashion, but if I remember correctly, you were in charge of public relations, not design. It’s not easy for a layman to handle design matters, Ms. Stafford. Don’t force it too much.”
Kylie, feeling the need to prove herself, stood up directly from her seat.
Everyone thought Kylie would leave in anger.
Instead, they saw her calmly take out a USB drive and insert it into the office meeting computer, projecting it onto the screen. Then she said loudly. “These are the clothing designs produced by Galaxy Group in the past two years. It’s evident that each season’s styles are more or less the same. Miss Perla’s designs this time are almost identical to last year’s, with only slight color variations. I almost thought it was last year’s design.”
“This is the trend for the past two years…” Perla tried to refute.
“You went to the Moore Group today. Didn’t you gain any insights?” Kylie coldly mocked.
Chapter 15
“I have professional ethics. How could I possibly plagiarize designs from another company?” Perla justified.
“I’m just telling you that the design trends have undergone a complete change since this spring. These are the release images from several authoritative international runways. It’s clear that Miss Perla’s design concepts have no resemblance whatsoever.” Kylie didn’t let Perla have an excuse.
The comparison between the stagnant designs of Galaxy Group and the innovative trends from international runways left everyone in the room speechless.
Using the same design for two years, no wonder Galaxy Group was declining.
Kylie’s words made Perla’s face pale. The latter was embarrassed.
In the past two years, she indeed had not put much effort into her designs and was in lack of inspiration. Exposed like this by Kylie in front of everyone, she had no confidence to counter.
Although the other directors were biased towards Perla, the obvious comparison left. them with no room to fabricate excuses.
They all fell silent, as if Kylie had slapped them in the face.
“All designs from the design department must go through my approval before finalization. I’ll give Miss Perla one week to revise these designs, and she will report to me privately next Tuesday. Any unfinished work from today, report to me at 9 a.m. tomorrow. If it’s still incomplete, you will get zero for this month’s performance.”
After Kylie said so, she left another domineering statement, then turned and left.
Kelton hurriedly followed her.
The other people in the room stared at Kylie in shock. It was unexpected for Kylie to show such courage.
How could a 25–year–old woman be so assertive?
In the office.
Kylie said to Kelton. “The entire senior management is Cohen’s people now. If we want to take back complete control of the company, we need a change of personnel.”
“Changing people right away may not win the hearts of the employees. A team needs to have the support of its members. And changing the whole team is difficult,” Kelton expressed concern.
“So, we have to make an example. But the most urgent task now is to replace Kiana.
Chapter 15
Otherwise, all my actions are under Cohen’s surveillance,” Kylie said.
Kelton was taken aback.
It seemed that Kylie had exceeded his expectations.
He had been loyal to Kylie just to repay the favor to her mother. However, Kylie’s performance had surprised him.
He even saw a glimpse of her mother’s brilliance in her.
At Hayden Group.
Derick stood behind the boss and felt that the boss was absent–minded today but didn’t dare to ask too much.
He knew too much of Ethan, and he did not dare to disturb Ethan.
“Derick,” Ethan suddenly put down the files in his hand and called out to his assistant.
“Yes.”
“How is she over there?” Ethan asked directly.
Over there?
Where?
Derick was confused by Ethan’s words.
Derick felt like his thoughts had traveled around the world at that moment, and suddenly he had a revelation.
He finally understood what Ethan was mentioning.
But didn’t Ethan say he believed Kylie? Derick did not bother too much about it.
“I’ll go ask right away, Derick quickly left and came back to report, “It is said that Mrs. Hayden called a high–level meeting today. It should not have gone smoothly, but it seems she did not suffer any injustice. Instead, after the meeting, the high–level executives were all furious, and some even said that when Perla left the meeting room, her eyes were red.”
Ethan’s face, stiff all day, finally relaxed.
He slowly sipped his coffee and asked, “Mrs. Hayden?”
“Isn’t it?” Derick asked in surprise.
Chapter 15
“Don’t make a fuss.”
Derick clearly saw a faint smile on Ethan’s lips.
Clearly, a man who had fallen in love would look like an adolescent girl.
“By the way, Mr. Hayden, when you went to the meeting earlier, Mr. Ellis called for you.”
“What did he say?” Ethan asked.
“He said that Salma went to his office today like a madman and almost drove him crazy. He also asked, ‘Where did Salma offend you? Why are you treating her like this?‘ I did not dare to answer.”
“Tell him that I just helped him understand how Salma treated him back then. And what I’m doing is teaching her a lesson,” Ethan replied.
Derick was speechless.
He just didn’t believe it.
At ten o’clock at night.
Kylie stretched and realized that she had been working until this late.
In fact, it was uncommon of her to be working overtime when she was the Moore Group. She had long been used to it.
Putting aside the past,
Kylie stood by the floor–to–ceiling windows, looking at the night view of Beliey.
For her, at this moment, she just wanted to manage the company left by her mother. well and not let it fall into the hands of the Stafford family. The so–called love and emotions were long forgotten…
Suddenly, the figure of a person appeared before her.
It was tall, cold, domineering, yet with a hidden gentleness….
Kylic pursed her lips.
In the end, she chose to ignore it.
She held no expectations for anyone.
Kylie put down the coffee cup, ready to leave work.
She suddenly saw a delivery man waiting for her at the door.
19:39 Fri, 1 Mar BD.
Chapter 15
“Miss Stafford?”
Kylie was surprised. She had not ordered any takeout.
“This is your oatmeal. Please sign for it,” the delivery guy handed her a pen.
Just as she was about to refuse, she saw the note on the sign–in sheet, “Jos.” Everything became clear.
Back at home, Kylie enjoyed the delicious oatmeal, contemplating whether she should thank Ethan.
After struggling for a while, she silently put down her phone.
Once burnt, twice cautious.
