Kylie got out of bed. Just as she turned her head, she saw a glass of water on the bedside table. The water had a faint yellow hue, and beneath it was a note.
The note read, “Honey water. It’ll make you feel better after a night of drunkenness. Remember to have breakfast when you wake up. An empty stomach after vomiting is bad for your stomach. Also, I’m on a business trip today and will be back in Belicy in a week.”
The writing was firm, exactly like that on the Hayden Group invitation.
Kylie lifted the glass of honey water and took a sip. It was cool with a hint of sweetness, refreshing her heart. At that moment, an inexplicable emotion stirred in her chest.
Suddenly, she wondered if Ethan kept asking her to wait for him to drive her home the previous night because he was leaving for a week on a business trip.
Setting the water glass down, Kylie entered the bathroom, took off the soiled gown, and took a shower.
After the shower, she casually tossed the gown into the trash can. It was just a freebie, not worth worrying
about.
Back in the living room, Kylie planned to lie down on the sofa and sleep for a while. The second day after drinking was always a bit tough. However, she then remembered Ethan’s note that warned about the risks of an empty stomach after vomiting.
She turned to the kitchen. As she was preparing a simple breakfast, her phone suddenly rang.
Glancing at the caller ID, she silenced it and set it aside, ignoring the call.
After making breakfast, she returned to the table. She idly picked up her phone and scrolled through the news while seeing several WhatsApp messages from Sergio.
She pursed her lips and decided to check them. As soon as she did, a set of photos appeared in the chat box.
In the photos, Ethan tightly held Zola, and Zola showed displeasure but no resistance. The two seemed entangled, creating a complicated scene.
Another message appeared in the chat. [Kylie, don’t delude yourself. Ethan can never be sincere with you. You’re just a pretty face to him, a temporary plaything. I can guarantee that a man as outstanding as him has countless women. You’re just one of many.]
Suddenly, Joseph’s words about his father liking Zola echoed in Kylie’s mind.
Chewing on her toast, Kylie nonchalantly replied in the chat, [We’re both adults. It’s hard to say who’s the plaything.] She then blocked Sergio.
At the Moore family’s villa, Sergio got up early and immediately checked the news. Fortunately, there was

He was accustomed to being praised, admired, and envied. But he was humiliated in front of all those people. How could he face them in the future?
He hesitated and then decided to send the message and the photos to Kylie.

Sergio was so angry he almost threw his phone. ‘Kylie actually blocked me?’ he thought.
“Sergio,” Jarrett called out to him and came down from the second floor, breaking his thoughts.
Sergio adjusted his emotions slightly.
“Last night, the Moore family really lost face at the banquet. Your sister cried all night after coming back,” Jarrett said.
They returned early the previous night, and Sergio had been in the backyard, unaware of Ethan standing up for Kylie and causing trouble with Salma.
“Since Kylie is openly involved with Ethan, it’s time to make Perla and your relationship public. We’ve been hiding it because we were afraid Kylie would make a scene and wanted her to break off the engagement. Now it seems we don’t need to worry about that. If we keep dragging this on, it will only make the Moore family a laughingstock,” Jarrett continued.
Sergio nodded. “I’ll let Perla know and make it public.”
“Have a grand wedding with Perla and regain the honor we lost yesterday.” Jarrett still couldn’t contain his anger when he talked about what had happened the previous night.
“Okay,” Sergio replied.
After giving the instructions, Jarrett left. Sergio then called Perla.
At that moment, Perla was sitting on the bed. She was just awake and checking the news and Instagram.

“What?” Perla was visibly excited.
“How about you? Don’t you want to go public?” Sergio asked.

“Kylie has hooked up with Ethan. Do you think she’ll still make a scene? Sergio mocked.
Perla bit her lip. She no longer wanted it to be public, and she even didn’t want this relationship at all now.
What Kylie didn’t want suddenly lost its appeal. Besides, she had a new pursuit now.
“Sergio, I’m still a bit worried.” Perla found an excuse.
“Worried about what?” Sergio was displeased.
