Chapter 35
A weekend passed, and Kylie worked two extra days that week. She sat in the office, diligently organizing the completed design drafts.
She knew she couldn’t rely on anyone from the design department. They were all Perla’s minions.
She picked up the phone and dialed the internal line. “Jordyn, gather all the senior executives and those above the design department supervisor. We’ll have a meeting in half an hour. The theme is the new product design for the next quarter. No one can be absent.”
“Okay,” Jordyn replied.
Half an hour later, in Galaxy Group’s senior meeting room, all senior executives were present, showing outward obedience to prevent Kylie from finding faults. That way, she wouldn’t be able to find a way to give them a hard time. These people didn’t really do any substantial work. They were just waiting to undermine Galaxy Group and force Kylie out.
Thanks to the overnight work of the design department, the design drafts for the new products next quarter are finally completed. I am very satisfied. Now I think you all senior executives should take a look.” Kylie got straight to the point, never wasting words.
All the senior executives began whispering when they heard Kylie’s words.
Perla was also somewhat puzzled. The design department hadn’t produced any finished designs recently, but Kylie claimed the design drafts were completed. According to the schedule, without confirmation that week, they wouldn’t catch up with the next quarter’s sales. She was waiting to see Kylie’s embarrassment.
Perla silently observed the design images Kylie presented. The first style surprised her, and other senior executives were clearly shocked as well.
It completely overturned Galaxy Group’s conservative designs and boldly blended vivid colors and vintage patterns perfectly, seamlessly connecting with international trends. It was eye–catching.
The senior executives who wanted to find faults closed their mouths. They couldn’t find anything bad to
say.
The management of the design department was also stunned. They had never seen such high–quality designs in all the years at Galaxy Group. ‘Whose work was this?‘ they wondered.
Kylie calmly explained the design concept for this season and then said, “Thanks for the efforts of the design department during this period. Yeah, and Miss Perla. She worked day and night to finish the drafts. Financial department, take note. This month, give each member of the design department an additional bonus of 400 dollars, and Miss Perla an individual bonus of 4,000 dollars.”
The design department and Perla, unexpectedly named and rewarded, wern wondered when they participated in the creative process of the design.

“If there are no objections, the production for the next season’s designs will proceed according to the previous plan. Kylie then added, “Perla, come to my office. Others can go about your business. With that, Kylie left with Jordyn.
Perla, under the watchful eyes of the senior executives, entered Kylie’s office.
“Kylie, what can I do for you?” Perla appeared respectful, unsure of what Kylie was up to.
“I want to discuss our brand’s spokesperson replacement.”
“Replace the spokesperson?” Perla was surprised. “Hasn’t Melody been doing well? She’s been our spokesperson for three years.”
“Her contract just ended,” Kylie said.
“Melody’s endorsement fee is reasonable. Besides, she’s cooperative and very approachable. There’s no need to replace her, is there?” Perla responded.
“But she lacks some uniqueness, not outstanding enough in the fashion circle.”
Perla frowned. “So do you have someone in mind?”
“Zola, Kylie said.
“Zola?” Perla was visibly excited. “She’s currently a popular figure in both acting and entertainment. Not to mention that our brand may not be able to get a deal, and even if we could, her endorsement fee is at least over two million dollars. We can’t afford her.
“Whether we can afford it or not, you don’t need to worry. I just want to hear your thoughts on Zola,” Kylie said.
It had to be said that Zola was indeed a darling in the fashion world. She was even hailed as a walking trendsetter with her casual outfits. Having her as the spokesperson would undoubtedly elevate Galaxy Group’s apparel to a new level.
“Of course, the person you admire wouldn’t be ordinary,” Perla chimed in. However, deep down, she thought Kylie couldn’t possibly convince Zola.
Kylie nodded. “Alright. You can go back to work now.”
Perla scrutinized Kylie. She felt Kylie’s behavior was unusually strange. She had initially wanted to inquire about the design but ultimately refrained.
The design, presented earlier clearly surpassed Galaxy Group’s usual standards. If it got out that it was her work, she could make a splash in the industry. Perla worried that if she asked now, everything might fall apart. It seemed better to play dumb.
Perla walked out of the office.

“Perla, wait,” Kylie stepped out and called after her.
“What’s up?” Perla asked.
“Keep today’s matter confidential. Don’t talk about it until it’s confirmed,” Kylie said.
Perla was stunned for a moment and then understood. “Don’t worry. I get it, Kylie.”
Kylie smiled and watched Perla leave.
After Perla’s departure, Kylie’s eyes subtly shifted as she observed an employee consulting something at the secretary’s desk. In fact, this person was a spy for certain people.
Her interaction with Perla undoubtedly caught the attention of other senior executives. That was precisely what she wanted.
Back in the office, Kylie thought earnestly about some matters.
Talking to Perla about replacing the spokesperson wasn’t a lie. Galaxy Group Apparel was quite mediocre in various aspects. To break through in such a competitive environment, besides strengthening the core, they also needed to build their external image. Kylie had long planned to replace the spokesperson, and Zola was indeed a suitable candidate she had admired for a long time.
She had inquired. Zola had no endorsement deals in the fashion industry. However, there were many negotiations, and she could sign a deal anytime.
In front of her career, personal emotions were negligible. She was always rational.
Kylie picked up the phone and dialed an unfamiliar number.
The call connected, and a clear male voice came from the other end. “Hello, Miss Stafford.”
“Mr. Cavanaugh, sorry to bother you. I have something I’d like to trouble you with,” Kylie said.
When Leopold took her to the hospital, they exchanged phone numbers because he had paid the medical expenses, and she needed to give back the money to him. Now, a year later, she called him again.
“No problem. Go ahead,” Leopold replied.
Although they weren’t very familiar, Leopold gave her a feeling of approachability.
“I heard that Zola is currently filming in the drama you’re directing. I have a potential endorsement deal for her, but since I’ve never interacted with Zola before, I’m afraid it might be too abrupt. Could you help me introduce her?” Kylie asked.
There was sudden silence on the other end.
Kylie was surprised. She thought it was a simple matter, but Leopold seemed to be so troubled.
“If you find it inconvenient, it’s okay…” Kylie added.

“No, it’s just a small favor,” Leopold said gently. “But Miss Stafford, are you sure you’re asking me for an introduction and not someone else?”
