Chapter 484
Kylie gazed quietly at him, unable to discern any emotion from his cold demeanor.
The man who had just been on the verge of losing control moments ago was now terrifyingly composed,
“I’ll help you run a bath.” He offered without receiving any response, and Ethan strode straight into the bathroom.
Kylie lowered her gaze, silently swallowing all her emotions.
After Ethan had filled the tub, he emerged from the bathroom and lifted Kylie from the couch.
She watched his stern facial features intently.
Placing Kylie in the bathroom, Ethan said, “If you need anything just call me. I’ll be outside.”
Then he left.
Kylie watched Ethan’s retreating figure, feeling like all she ever saw now was his back.

She undressed, revealing smooth skin marred with awkward bruises, making the recent ambiguity seem ironically cruel.
After her bath, Kylie put on fresh lingerie from the villa and donned a hotel robe before opening the bathroom door.
Ethan stood at the doorway, watching as Kylie emerged, and he lifted her once again into his arms.
Kylie didn’t protest.
Her legs were genuinely not cooperating, and the wheelchair was downstairs.
Besides, if he didn’t carry her, she could not make her way back to her room on her own.
But Kylie was surprised when Ethan placed her directly on the bed in the room.
She didn’t question it much.
With so many rooms available, she figured she could stay in this one while Ethan took another.
It would be more of a hassle for him to keep carrying her around anyway.
So Kylie settled comfortably onto the large bed without a second thought.
She watched as Ethan entered the bathroom.
In truth, Kylie wanted to remind him to use another room to freshen up, but she chose silence instead.
After Ethan finished his shower, Kylie found herself unable to sleep.
After all, she couldn’t possibly drift off.
She had napped for so long in the afternoon, and besides….
There was a prickling discomfort in her heart.
But when Ethan emerged, Kylie pretended to be asleep, shutting her eyes deliberately.
Then, she suddenly felt the bed shift on the other side.

Kylie’s heart skipped a beat as Ethan slowly approached her.
“Go to sleep,” Ethan said before Kylie could speak, “I’ll sleep with you tonight.”

Watching him pretend to sleep, Kylie couldn’t resist moving closer to him.
Despite being clearly hurt by him, she couldn’t help but want to be close to him.
She nestled into his embrace and finally drifted off to sleep.
Even after falling asleep, Kylie didn’t notice the man holding her still awake and unable to sleep.

The next day, when Kylie opened her eyes, she had no idea what time it was, only that the sunlight outside was blinding.
She turned to where Ethan had been lying, but he was gone.
The warmth beside her had vanished.

Kylie sat up in bed, then carefully got out.
She made her way to the balcony, hoping to see the vast expanse of the sea and sky.
What she saw instead was Ethan swimming in the private pool below.
It reminded her of four years ago when they went on vacation, and she would watch him swim freely.
Sadly, with her leg injured now, she couldn’t join him.
She stood there watching Ethan, seeing him swim lap after lap.

Chapter 484
In the sunlight, he seemed to radiate with a dazzling brilliance.
After a while, Ethan seemed to notice her presence.
He looked up at her.
“Are you awake?” Ethan asked.
“Yeah,” Kylie responded.
Ethan emerged from the pool, water droplets gliding over his skin, highlighting his perfect muscular contours in the sunlight.
Kylie chuckled softly.
The feeling of seeing but not being able to touch was truly indescribable.
After coming out of the pool, Ethan wrapped himself in a robe and headed back into the villa. Soon, Kylie heard him heading upstairs.
She turned around as Ethan stepped onto the balcony, bending down to lift her effortlessly into his arms.
Kylie had grown accustomed to Ethan’s embrace, even feeling a hint of fondness, despite knowing it was merely out of politeness, considering her injured leg.
Ethan settled her at the dining table, and shortly after, the waiter brought their breakfast.
They ate quietly, each lost in their own thoughts.
“Do we have any plans for today?” Ethan inquired.
“None,” Kylie replied.
Ethan looked at her.
A smile tugged at Kylie’s lips. “Are you disappointed?”

“This is all the time we have together.” Kylie’s smile held a hint of melancholy. “I don’t want to make

“Ethan, could you cook me something?” Kylie looked at him.
Ethan pursed his lips, feeling a pang in his chest.
“Perhaps this is the last time I’ll eat something cooked by you,” Kylie said with a faint smile.
“Okay.”
After breakfast, the hotel staff brought in fresh groceries.

“You can go watch TV. You don’t have to stay with me.” Ethan suggested, feeling a bit uncomfortable under her gaze.

Struggling to get down from the high stool, Kylie finally managed it.

“Ethan, do you really not remember anything?” she asked softly.
Ethan remained silent.
“You never even asked me what I like to eat before starting to cook,” Kylie continued.
“Aren’t these the groceries the staff brought? Aren’t they what you like?” Ethan countered.
Kylie sighed bitterly and thought to herself, ‘Yeah. I’m always lying to myself!’
