The car finally arrived at Hayden’s residence. After getting out of the car, Leopold rushed to a corner and started vomiting incessantly. Zola stood behind him, watching him unable to straighten his body due to the vomiting.

Zola took a step back and continued. “I’ll call a doctor to come to the house for you. With that, she entered Hayden’s residence. Later, Leopold was assisted back to his room by the family doctor since he had no strength left.
Zola, having finished her shower, noticed that Leopold’s room was still open, with the lights on. After a moment of hesitation, she decided to go in. The doctor was administering intravenous fluids, and Leopold lay on the bed, his face extremely pale. It didn’t look like he was drunk but rather seriously ill. He had his eyes closed at the moment, probably asleep.
The family doctor noticed Zola and respectfully greeted her. “Miss Yvette.”
“How is he?” Zola asked.
“Excessive drinking. After tonight’s intravenous treatment, we’ll see if there’s any improvement. If not, he’ll need to go to the hospital tomorrow for a gastroscopy to check for any other gastric issues.”
“Is it that serious?”
“Mr. Cavanaugh originally had mild gastritis, and he usually drinks very little. Tonight, he drank excessively, and his body couldn’t handle it,” the doctor explained, “Next time, advise. him to drink less.”
“Sure,” Zola responded, “How long will the IV treatment take?”
“About two hours.” It was already 1 a.m. Most importantly, Leopold had to direct a film
shoot tomorrow.
“I will stay with him throughout the night. You can rest assured, Miss Yvette,” the doctor spoke up again to assure Zola. She nodded and left.

However, lying in bed, she found it hard to fall asleep. Images of Leopold drinking tonight. kept replaying in her mind. It seemed that every time he raised his glass, it was when Joel wanted to drink with her. Zola tightened the blanket around herself. She couldn’t allow any expectations or hopes.
Under the same night sky, Ethan escorted Kylie home. He claimed to be escorting her, but halfway there, he fell asleep. When they reached the destination, Ethan was still asleep. Kylie gestured to the driver, carefully opened the car door, and just as she was about to step out, her wrist was suddenly grabbed by Ethan. In the next moment, Kylie was abruptly pulled into his embrace. Despite the strong smell of alcohol on him, it wasn’t overpowering due to the faint scent of sandalwood on his person. She squirmed in his arms and bellowed inwardly, “Wasn’t Ethan asleep?”
“Let go of me!” Kylie protested. “I’m home. You should go back.”
Ethan’s hazy eyes glanced outside the window. After a while, he realized they had arrived.
“I’ll walk you upstairs.”
“It’s too late now.” Kylie refused.
“That’s why I want to accompany you. It’s unsafe at night.”
Kylie could not speak a word but thought to herself, ‘Aren’t you the one that would make me unsafe?‘
Ethan got out of the car. Kylie watched as he stood upright with steady steps. She could not help but wonder if the image of him being drunk was just an illusion. Arriving at the door of her home, Kylie said, “I’m home. You can go back now.”
“Alright.”
Kylie turned to enter the password. The door opened. She walked inside, leaving the man. who had promised to leave but stood motionless at the door.
“It’s getting late. You should hurry back.” Kylie urged again.
“Sure.” He agreed readily, but his body didn’t move a bit.
Kylie gritted her teeth, turned around, and closed the door. After closing it, she peeked through the security camera. Ethan was still standing at the door. Kylie was speechless. She suddenly opened the door again. “Didn’t you say you were leaving?”

“Something is coming up to my mind just now,” Ethan said.
“You haven’t given me a birthday present.”

Kylie pursed her lips. She thought they would part ways tonight, so she found it was pointless to give a gift and complicate things.
“Just express it in some way,” Ethan said with a serious expression, implying something. Kylie felt that if she didn’t satisfy Ethan tonight, she wouldn’t be able to get rid of him. She took a deep breath, approached him, then hugged his neck, tiptoed, and planted a kiss on his cheek. Ethan froze. The confusion in his eyes due to alcohol earlier now brightened. “I thought a simple “happy birthday‘ would suffice.” He continued, adopting a posture of taking advantage, which was simply infuriating. “But, I prefer your repayment in kind.” Ethan’s magnetic voice lowered further, and the atmosphere between the two became increasingly ambiguous. Kylie’s face turned crimson as if it could bleed. “Goodnight.”
Ethan finally left contentedly, and Kylie abruptly closed the door. She couldn’t help but lean against the door, covering her flushed face. In her mind, the words of Zola came to her, saying Ethan was good at flirting. She pondered, ‘Well, indeed. So, just how many women in the past must have experienced it to bring his flirting to such a level of perfection?”
The next day. Kylie, due to sleeping late last night and insomnia, woke up later than usual. When she woke up, it was the ringing of her phone that disturbed her. Glancing at the caller ID, her expression changed slightly. Yet, her entire demeanor remained surprisingly. calm. She answered the call.
“Kylie, why aren’t you at the hospital?” An agitated voice of Cohen came from the other end.
“Who said I must be at the hospital?” Kylie asked coldly.
Cohen suppressed his anger. After spending two days persuading his mother to apologize to Kylie and settle the matter privately, the result was that when they finally arrived at the hospital, they were informed that Kylie had already been discharged. He could not help but feel that Kylie was making things difficult for him.
