Taming The CEO The Escaping Wife Chapter 77

Chapter 77

Elgin tossed her into the passenger seat and buckled her up, “Looking all dolled up today. Who were you trying to snag at the celebration party?”

“I wasn’t! How can you say that to shame me!*

“Isn’t that the case?” He snorted. “Walden’s out of the country, and there’s no more boy toys around you, so you’re itching for the

next catch!*

Words can cut deeper than knives.

Letitia’s eyes reddened as she retorted, “Elgin, you slept with Shela. I didn’t do anything wrong. And now you’re making stuff up, accusing me of getting all gussied up to seduce men at the party? Do you even have a conscience?”

They locked eyes.

Seeing her trying to hold back tears, Elgin wanted to reach out and stroke her head. But he must resist. Elgin felt a twinge of helplessness. Even someone as strong as him could feel this way

Words are powerless when used to express love, yet so sharp when they come to causing pain!

Elgin couldn’t help himself. He always ended up hurting her with his words.

He regretted it deep down. He shouldn’t have drowned his sorrows or gone to see Shela. But he would never let anyone know his regret. He had his pride!

After a while, Elgin finally spoke up. “You do look stunning tonight.”

That was Elgin’s way of compromising. That was the only compliment he could give and was his one last tenderness.

With that, Elgin lifted his hand, trying to ruffle her hair to make what he had thought a reality.

But Letitia turned her head sharply away. “Don’t touch me!”

His face darkened. He got up, closed the car door, and slid into the driver’s seat.

On the way back, neither of them spoke. The car was so quiet that they could hear the sound of their breathing

Back to Ivory Towers, the butler instantly sensed something off between the two and silently chose not to disturb them.

Letitia went straight to the master bedroom and headed for the bathroom.

She had just pulled down her dress’s zipper when Elgin kicked the door open with a bang.

Startled, her hand shook, and the dress fell to the floor.

“Elgin, what are you…?

He strode over, tilted her chin up, and kissed her fiercely.

Letitia resisted, pounding on his chest, trying to push him away, but that only led to Elgin kissing her more intensely.

He’s lost it again!

“Mm… mm… Pinned against the wall by Elgin, Letitia couldn’t budge.

Her hands flailed about, and she accidentally turned on the shower above. Suddenly, water poured over them both.

The water was ice-cold, chilling Letitia to the bone.

Seeing this, Elgin reached out to adjust the temperature. The water slowly warmed, and they were soaked all over.

In a fit of anger, Letitia bit him hard.

“Biting me again?” Elgin held her waist and let go “Letitia, the wound on my shoulder is still there!”

“I only bit you once and left you one scar, Letitia said through clenched teeth, “Do you know how many scars have you left on my heart? You can’t see them, and you don’t care!”

Letitia also lost control of her emotions, and in a fit of rage, she grabbed Elgin’s shirt and ripped it off, revealing the bite mark on his shoulder.

The mark scabbed over, a dark purple hue.

“Elgin, what’s this little pain to you? It’s nothing! Letitia rubbed the scar hard with her fingers. “You won’t suffer a little. You don’t

derstand the feeling of being driven to death! You should have let me drown in the lake!

He looked at her silently.

The water continued pouring down.

Letitia’s makeup had washed away. Her face was a mess, but she seemed even more beautiful to him.

“She looked great tonight, yet someone else got to see her first.” Elgin thought, “Maybe I shouldn’t have been so proud and should have gone to the celebration party, too.”

“Why are you so upset? Elgin asked. “Letitia, are you jealous?”

Jealous? The word made her heart jump, and she looked up at Elgin in a daze.

I slept with Shela, and you got upset.” Elgin’s voice was husky. “You’re heartbroken. You’re jealous. Right…”

Thinking this way, Elgin suddenly felt much better. She got upset because she cared

Without thinking. Letitia denied it, “No!”

“Why can’t you admit it?” pressed Elgin

“How dare 1? You and Shela are the perfect match!”

Elgin sighed “Stop arguing, Letitia”

She closed her eyes, exhausted. But he patiently explained, “I didn’t mean to sleep with her. It was an accident. I was drunk, and I didn’t remember anything”

“You don’t have to explain to me.” Letitia pushed him away “You’re a free soul. Who am I to tell you what to do.”

“I’m telling the truth.”

“You slept with Shela, and that’s also the truth.”

Elgin pursed his lips. “I can apologize.”

He stepped back again – It was something the former Elgin would never have done.

But to calm Letitia down, he was making concessions. Little did she know that he had never apologized to anyone before.

Yet, Letitia scoffed. “Elgin, don’t you see how absurd you sound? Your apology turns my stomach.”

She turned off the shower and walked out. “Save it. I wish you happiness so I can escape from this misery sooner.”

Watching her walk away, Elgin punched the wall hard.

Letitia changed into her pajamas, ready to sleep on the floor again.

“Get in bed,” Elgin commanded.

She didn’t respond, continuing to lay out her blanket.

Elgin picked her up and put her in bed.

“Let go of me!” she struggled. “I’m fine sleeping on the floor.”

He narrowed his eyes dangerously. ‘Letitia, don’t get cocky. Stop pushing your luck!”

She defiantly lifted her chin. “I’m not your pet. You sweet-talk me when you’re happy and give me the cold shoulder when you’re not!”

Letitia got out of bed and headed for the door.

She wouldn’t sleep, not with Elgin!

“Letitia””

“I can’t stand the smell of Shela on you!”

Elgin, face stern, caught up with her, hoisted her back, and called the butler, “Bring some air freshener up here!”

Elgin was so strong that he had out-competed Letitia in strength. And Letitia still ended up sleeping by Elgin’s side.

When she closed her eyes, she couldn’t stop thinking of the scene that Elgin and Shela entwined together.

She barely caught a wink the whole night. So, when Letitia strolled into the office, her eyes were shielded by pronounced dark prcles

Sunen came again, whispering sweet nothings, “Ma’am, Mr. Ramirez wants to see you.”

Chapter 77

But.

‘I’m not in the mood, and I’m busy.” Letitia didn’t even look up from her sketches. “If he wants to see me, he can come here. Why

the heck should I go to him?”

Ranen looked like he was in a real pickle.
