Chapter 10
Meanwhile, in the same pack, inside the cafe, a girl rushed to their group of friends, the leader of the girl’s training group sitting in front of them, sipping her mocha.
“Tiffany, did you hear about it?” Tasha whispered to her, making the girl raise her brows.
Her eyes were already brewing with anger, and now this girl was getting on her nerves by acting so ridiculous.
The other girls at the table shook their heads at Tasha to warn her. Today wasn’t the time to act like her usual oblivious gossip girl. Tiffany was in a bad mood because of what happened in the dungeons that no one knew about.
“Tasha, I am barely keeping myself sane with this mocha. I am minutes away from snapping a few bones, so if I were you, I wouldn’t do anything. to get on my nerves,” Tiffany tilted her head, her brown eyes glowing, and Tasha gulped.
She looked at the other girls before clearing her throat.
“I… I am sorry, Tiffany. I wasn’t trying to get on your nerves or anything. It’s just, I was too shocked with the news myself and wanted to know if any of you heard about it too or if I was the only one,” Tasha said.
“We get it. Now, will you spout what has gotten you all so worked up?” Chloe chimed in.
“I heard that earlier in the afternoon, a rogue girl saved the lives of three humans a kilometre away from our pack. She was brought back to the pack and sent to dungeons, but then she was proven not guilty and left –”
“This isn’t the first time it’s happening, so what is so interesting about it?‘ Tiffany, who remembered that pathetic b*tch who snarled back at her, growled, lighting her cigarette.
Tasha cleared her throat.
“Well… well, I heard the alpha brought her back to the pack, and she is. now staying at the guest house. I got the information from Sasha, who was ranting in annoyance because Alpha asked her to take care of that rogue girl. The alpha has offered her the role of secretary in the company. His secretary,” Tasha completed her sentence, and everyone. looked at Tiffany from the corner of their eyes.
Alpha Kaiden’s Scarred Luma
It wasn’t a hidden fact in the pack, especially among girls that Tiffany was head over heels for their alpha since childhood.
The girl has been trying hard to get their Alpha’s appreciation for as long as they can remember.
It was to support him in his endeavours that she trained for 8 hours a day to become strong enough and take the position of the lead fighter and trainer of the women’s security team of the pack.
However, even after all this, she lacked one thing. Or should they say, their Alpha’s condition was something that came between them.
Their alpha had a jinx. It was a curse he received from a witch.
Only the elders and Alpha’s close friends knew what the curse actually was, but it was widely spread, no woman was allowed to touch their alpha, not even a handshake. And anyone who tried to snuck was punished with a death sentence.
Tiffany’s fingers tightened around her cigarette.
“That’s quite surprising. This is the first time we are hearing of our alpha actually being lenient to a rogue, regardless of gender. He hates women even more. So why did he bring her to our pack?” One of them voiced out their questions..
“Who knows? From what I heard, the girl didn’t even know he was the alpha of the pack and thought he was the beta. Maybe it’s because the alpha is irked with her lack of scent. They say she doesn’t smell like a rogue. Maybe the alpha wants to keep her in the pack as the test case to see what those rogues are up to?” One of them asked.
“That can be a plausible answer,” The other one nodded.
“But… if that was the case, why would he make her his personal secretary? He never even allows a woman apart from Tiffany and a few trusted ones to be in the same room as him,” Tasha added, making Tiffany’s eyes fill with jealousy.
She remembered how that girl had snapped at her, and rather than beating her, the alpha had taken the rogue’s side and asked Tiffany if she wanted to die because she was defending him.
Something was going on in their Alpha’s head, and she hated that she wasn’t a part of it.
After all the time she wasted being close to him, how could he think about another girl and make her his secretary when he never allowed

her?
If he was having thoughts of another woman, she should readily remove that thought from his head, no? That’s what true love was, no?
“When does she start?” Tiffany asked after a drawn–out pause, her lips. curling up in a smirk.
“Tomorrow,” Tasha answered, not liking the cold vibes their leader was oozing.
“Well, that calls for a welcome ceremony for the rogue, no?” Tiffany smiled, taking a long whiff of her cigarette, making others look at each other with a smile.
“Of course, I think that rogue b*tch is trying to seduce our alpha. We should do something and knock some sense into the rogue’s head before she can think ahead of herself,” Chloe said, making Tiffany hum..
Anastasia. That was what her name was, no? Poor girl. She doesn’t even know what would hit her and how badly.
The alpha, though cold, would never go against his strongest female fighter for a rogue.
Anastasia walked out of her room at 7 a.m. and looked at the dining table. where people were already seated for breakfast.
As much as she loved free stuff, she was a woman who valued self–respect. too much, and that girl Sasha made it clear to her last night that she wasn’t much welcomed here.
“Hi, can I know where the company is?” Anastasia spoke to a random girl, and she looked at her up and down before scoffing,
“Wasn’t Beta Logan supposed to take you there? Sit down and eat something, I don’t want someone to blame our alpha later that he wasn’t hospitable enough just because she was being a b*tch and not obeying orders, Sasha said.
Anastasia smiled forcefully and pulled a chair dejectedly.
Sometimes it feels like humiliation is her lot in life. She gritted her teeth and picked a cheese sandwich before munching on it.
She didn’t feel like eating at all.
Two–piece breads of peace taste better than a buffet of humiliation.
After munching on a sandwich, she stood from the table, done with all

the weird stares she was receiving.
This won’t do. She will have to form plans of running out of here anyhow. She has to go and meet her friend too.
The meeting and information from Carl were far more important to her than working as the secretary of a monster who could kill her any second.
“Miss Anastasia, I thought I was early, but it looks like you are already ready to go,” Logan said, and Anastasia hummed, pressing her lips into a
thin line.
“Since today is going to be my first day, I was wondering if we could go there sooner so that I can get used to the company and things I would be dealing with,” she said, and Logan looked at her with a fake smile.
Of course.
He would’ve really believed her genuine expression if he hadn’t heard her talking over the call.
“Well, if that’s the case, we should be leaving, right?” Logan asked, his gaze shifting to Sasha, who glared at the girl through the window and sighed.
Living here won’t be easy for this girl, and it would be better if his alpha realized it soon. He needs to be clear with his intention to keep her here. and make it clear to their pack soon, or things will turn ugly. Logan sat in the car once Anastasia sat inside.
“By the way, which pack did you belong to before turning rogue?” Logan asked, and Anastasia looked out of the window.
“I would rather not talk about it. I have a presumption that your alpha is keeping me close because I have some information about the rogue head that all the alphas are looking for. Can you talk him into sending me. away? You look like someone sensible here,” Anastasia said.
Logan looked at her through the rearview mirror, the sad look in her eyes confusing him a bit.
“You do know that people die to be a part of our pack, right?” Logan asked, and Anastasia smiled.
She didn’t doubt that, but she was even more sure she would die if she stayed in this pack.
“Unfortunately, I am that one per cent of the wolves who have started to hate everything that comes with pack wolves. I will never find a home in

some pack. Especially in these strong packs, where they treat weak people like they are nothing more than a black stain on their grounds. I saw a clear example yesterday,” Anastasia smiled through her pain, looking at the burn scars on her hands that were healing much more slowly.
“Look, I don’t know what kind of experience you had in your last pack, but our pack is not –”
“Have you fallen for my looks already?” Anastasia interrupted him, and he almost lost control of the car on the two–way lane, making her widen her eyes.
“Hey, drive safely. I still want to live. After everything I have gone
through, I don’t want to die in some lame car accident,” Anastasia nearly raised her voice in shock.
Logan glared at her.
“Well, if you want me to drive safely, stop making such jokes. Falling for you? What gave you this weird idea?” Logan asked, and Anastasia smirked.
“You are the one who is adamant about keeping me here. What am I supposed to think?” Anastasia shrugged as if it was the most normal. thing, making the beta roll his eyes.
“My alpha wants to keep you here, and I assure you he has not fallen in LOVE with you,” Logan rolled his eyes.
The rest of the ride went in silence, and Anastasia preferred it.
“The alpha’s office is on the twelfth floor. He already knows that you are here, so just go there,” Logan said, and Anastasia nodded before walking towards the elevator.
She pressed the button for the twelfth floor, her heart starting to pick its pace in anticipation of what was about to happen.
Honestly, it would’ve been better if she hadn’t found that the man she was talking to so casually was the alpha of the pack and the named monster. Now, everything has become so hard for her.
It was partially her fault. How come she didn’t recognise the most dangerous alpha?
Oh yes, how can she forget? She has a useless wolf.
‘Hey! That’s mean,’ Her wolf shouted, and Anastasia rolled her eyes.
“As if I care,” She snapped at her wolf, since it was all because of her she was in this situation in the first place, before taking a deep breath as soon

as the lift door opened..
She didn’t need to try hard to locate the room of the alpha. The biggest cabin in the corridor had a small wooden nameplate on the translucent door.
With all the courage she could muster, she knocked on the door.
“Come in,” the same cold, bold, and deep voice said, and Anastasia. opened the door softly.
“Well?” He asked without looking up, and Anastasia didn’t know if he was just testing her or if he was really unaware it was her who entered the
doors.
“I didn’t know you were the shy type. The last time I checked, you kissed a random stranger, an Alpha to be precise, without thinking twice,” Alpha Kaiden looked up from his file, and Anastasia looked away, heat rising to her cheeks that clearly amused Kaiden.
He was teasing her.
