Chapter 14
“Where is she?” Alpha Kaiden asked as soon as he exited the meeting room, and Logan looked at his boss before looking at his watch.
“It has been an hour since she left the company. I was in the meeting room with the spies, and when I came out and asked everyone around, they said she ran out of the company. Maybe she was in a hurry to meet the person, Logan said, completely oblivious to what exactly happened in the company, and Alpha Kaiden nodded.
“Is our man already behind her? I don’t want any mistakes. Let’s see what kind of rogues she meets before deciding if she is worthy of living,” Alpha” Kaiden walked to the corridor with Logan as they entered the lift.
“Yes, sir. I’ll keep asking him what is happening,” Logan answered.
“Good. I want you to fix a meeting with the alphas of the western regions. I think it’s about time I ask them what the hell they are doing with their securities that the rogues are getting out of their hands so easily. Didn’t Anastasia also come from the Western regions?” Alpha Kaiden said, and they exited the lift.
He walked towards the lobby of the company and noticed something weird.
His staff was watching him like always, but why did it seem like they were also gossiping about something?
He stopped and looked at the women, who immediately stopped talking and turned around, making him tilt his head.
Hmm… something was definitely going on.
“You, come over here,” he called a random woman, and she gulped before walking to him.
“What is happening? Did something happen while I wasn’t here?” Alpha Kaiden asked, his eyes glowing amber.
The woman who knew that their alpha only liked the truth was about to tell him they were gossiping about that rogue and her connection with the alpha and how they taught her a lesson by throwing that hot coffee over her shirt, burning her.
“Alpha, it’s about the –”
“About the new episode of the OTT program these girls are infatuated
with,” Tiffany walked to Alpha Kaiden, and his gaze shifted to the woman, who immediately looked down.
It doesn’t look like some normal OTT program. This was something else.
He was about to probe more when he saw the man he had sent and asked. to follow Anastasia, walking inside the company.
“Gale,” Alpha Kaiden walked to him, looking around.
That rogue wasn’t here, so what was he doing here? Was her meeting already over? Does that mean the rogue she was meeting lives.
somewhere nearby? Or is it that she never went to the meeting and. tricked him? Kaiden looked at his man.
“Alpha,” Gale walked to him.
“What are you doing here?” Logan narrowed his eyes, asking the question that he was sure his alpha intended to ask.
“Here? Was I not supposed to come to the company? I am sorry, sir, but my head is a bit all over the place, Gale answered, holding his head, and Alpha Kaiden narrowed his eyes.
“What did you say?” Alpha Kaiden held his collar, pulling him forward. He looked into his eyes to read his mind about what happened in the last hour, but to his surprise, his mind was as blank as a sheet of paper.
How is that possible?
It was almost as if someone erased his memory or deleted the data of the past from some kind of server.
“What happened? I asked you to go behind that rogue as soon as she exited the company because we were sure she was going to meet her other rogue friends. So where were you, Gale? Why are you not following her, and why the hell is your memory as clean as a sheet of paper?” Alpha Kaiden asked, and Gale looked at Logan.
Gale panicked a bit. He didn’t know anything about what Alpha Kaiden was talking about.
“Sir, why don’t you go ahead? I will handle this,” Logan said when he noticed his alpha getting angry now, and Kaiden nodded at his subordinate, walking out of the company.
“Logan, what is this all about?” Tiffany rushed towards Logan.
“It’s about that new rogue girl. Alpha Kaiden asked Gale to keep a tab on her because we were sure she would meet her other rogue friends, and
we could use this opportunity to get closer to the rogue head. However, it looks like there is an issue with how things went,” Logan answered in a hurry before taking Gale inside the interrogation room.
Tiffany, who was surprised with this piece of information, smiled.
“Does that mean Alpha Kaiden kept her here with an agenda in mind? Was she uselessly fussing over it? Then again, it was good that she taught a bitch like her a good lesson for the future, Tiffany nodded at herself before leaving the company with a satisfactory smile on her face.
That was right. Alpha Kaiden only belonged to her.
Meanwhile, Kaiden sat inside his car and looked at the road with a
thoughtful expression.
Though Gale’s memories of that particular time were unclear, he woke up near that park, right?
Alpha Kaiden drove to the park and parked at the entrance before looking at the bushes where he remembered Gale must’ve woken up because of his memories.
He walked inside the park and closed his eyes, sniffing the air, his eyes opening when he smelt the faint scent of blood. This blood… He walked to the bench and used his shoe to circle where the stench was hardest. There were indeed faint traces of the red drops here.
There was no doubt this blood belonged to Anastasia. This stench of blood with no scent of humanity or wolf could only belong to her. Alpha Kaiden looked around before narrowing his brows.
Where could she have gone from here? He bit the inside of his cheeks before walking to his car and driving to the nearest club. He met her for the first time in a club, so maybe she held the meeting in a crowded place where fewer people would focus on them due to heavy scents?
At the same time, in the apartment of one of the buildings in the suburbs, Anastasia sat on the chair in front of Carl, who was tied to the chair with silver chains burning his skin, his eyes closed and his lips blue, probably from all the pain.
“Were you able to extract any information?” Anastasia asked the man, who looked at her before shaking his head.
You said you will deal with him when you’re here. So I didn’t bother dirtying my hands. He is your culprit. Handle it yourself. I’ll be outside. Call me if you need anything.” The man walked out of the room.
Anastasia took a deep breath before walking to Carl, grabbing his jaws to see if he was conscious or if she needed to hurt him a bit until he gained enough consciousness to answer some of her simple questions.
Questions like where she can find that man, the man who will lead her to the rogue head who can help her with the revenge on Jackson.
