Now, if I ever believed that voicing out the fact that I was carrying my lover’s child would make me as happy as I was, then I was wrong.
I was happier.
Mostly because I knew that at this point, the man had nothing to do except for take me as his.
Nikolay wouldn’t leave me halfway carrying his baby. His mother wouldn’t allow him to do so if he wanted to anyway. It was something that she was completely against, and that was something that I knew for fact.
“I’m sorry, what did you just say?” Nikolay asked, shaking his head in question. I smiled, watching as he removed his hand from mine. I didn’t expect a different reaction nor did I really care. I got what I wanted in the end, and after all the struggles and lies, I at least knew that I came out of this as victorious.
“I believe that we both need a reminder of the meaning of life. As it seems. like my world does not exist anymore if you are not in it.” I said, looking him in the eye as he smiled at me.

Simply recalling his words made my heart throb, mostly because I knew that he was having his eyes on another woman.
Finding him on top of her at Bali was something that I couldn’t forget. It was something that broke my heart to even think of, and that was something that I didn’t want to recall, not right now when I was living the best moment of my life.

when I saw the positive test, and though I was somewhat scared of his reaction. I knew that he wouldn’t take it as lightly as I would have hoped that he would. The man had a wife for crying out loud, and she was a woman that he was defending lately, but that didn’t mean that I was going to be the one to left as a victim in this story.
I didn’t waste my life with him, ruin my marriage, and ruin the home that I had for him to throw me like some trash bin. If anything, I was to be the one to throw him and that wife of his in that trash can before drowning them deep in the pacific ocean. They still didn’t know who they were up against, and it was mostly due to the fact that I was often forced to stay quiet. The need for money made me stay quiet, and the need to be loved and protected made me zip my mouth up. The man provided me with what I needed, and in turn, I gave him my heart and body. What more could he have asked for.
But no, Nikolay chose to go to the woman that he swore he didn’t want.
“My apologies for taking too long. I had to put a few ground rules that set up a few boundaries.”
“As long as she knows her limits, I don’t think that I could ask for more.” His words about her toward me made me doubt even his love to me. Like, if a man could say all that about one woman and sleep with her, how much could he say about me before he’s gotten rid of me?
“What do you fucking mean that you are pregnant?” He asked, shaking his head at me, finally processing what I just told him. “The two of us have been using protection. Who the fuck have you been fucking…?”
I slapped him before he could complete his sentence, taking him off guard. And though that wasn’t the smartest of moves right now. The cops that were outside have entered the house to catch Katerina’s father for being caught because of domestic abuse. I knew that he deserved the slap that he got. Him calling me a slut, whether or not it was direct, was not something that I was going to allow. Especially that him of all people should actually know that I would rather they kill me or I died somehow, instead of cheating on him. He benefitted me a lot more than I did to him,

and it was time that I returned the favor. That was that.
“I do not sleep with other men, and you of all people should be aware of it. As for getting pregnant. It happened. The two of us fucked, and protection. or not, it happened. I don’t believe that we even used protection last time as I doubt that you had any condoms and as a result, I am carrying YOUR BABY, AND NOT MINE alone.” I said, snapping at him, catching his parents‘ attention. I was glad that cops signed a protection protocol. It was one that ensured the privacy in the house that they entered unless proved needed. Otherwise, this family would have had their news all over the news, and being related to Nikolay somehow, being attacked by fans was the last thing that I needed.
I couldn’t handle being the center of attention in a negative way. I had tried it with my ex and it was one of the MAIN reasons why the two of us broke up. The man saw me as nothing but a pleasure toy, and that was something that I did not want to repeat with Nikolay. Therefore, I chose to often stay hidden. Well, there was also the fact that I was also exposed as the cheater who chose to love a younger man, Nikolay, who was three five years younger than I was, for his money.
The thing was, yes, despite being with him because he spoiled me when we first started dating. I did fall in love with him, but it was never enough love for me to take him as he was. I didn’t come out of the dust bin to be thrown into another one with nothing to support myself.
If anything, for Nikolay, I couldn’t work anywhere anymore a they all believed that I was a scandal walking on this planet. When confronted about it, no one really bothered give a proper explanation to why I was accused of so. And it wasn’t until I found out that it was my ex who was the one to prevent me from working anywhere that I stopped looking.
Thankfully, Nikolay supported me enough over the years, but I knew that him not doing so would only make me lose everything that I worked to get. The man couldn’t just easily let me go after what I let go for him, right? I mean, I did fight to keep things between us, wanting them to be as perfect as I could make them. He couldn’t possibly just throw that out the window. The Nikolay that I knew wouldn’t do that, not easily, and not cold.

“What do you mean that you are carrying my son’s child in your womb?” His mother, the one reason why the two of us never managed to be together, walked toward us and asked. Her eyes were harder than they ever were, and I had to admit. A small part of me was afraid of what she would do if she could lay her hand on me. The woman was known for her cold heart, hell, even her visits to my house told me that she was not only cold hearted, but was a woman who liked to control everything that she set her eye upon, and that included ME as well.
“You can ask your son about our night the last time we were officially together. To make things better for you even, we can have a blood test and you can confirm that the baby is yours. Then you can decide what you want to do.”
“Do you really believe that I won’t?” She asked, glaring at me. She grabbed my arm, pulling me toward her car before pushing me to get inside.
“You wouldn’t be you if you didn’t test it out anyway.” I said, giving her a sarcastic smile. She shook her head at me before grabbing me by my collar, pulling it in her hand.
“IF I find out that the baby is not my son’s or that this is just a game from yours I will be sure that you regret it, do you understand me? I will take out all the anger that I have toward everyone on you, and that is the last thing that you need.” She said and I smiled, shaking my head at her. The woman didn’t know love and wouldn’t know what it was if it hit her in the face. I was a woman who was happy being pregnant, and though my lover didn’t approve of the pregnancy just yet, knowing him, it was only a matter of time before he was beside me, supporting me, both mentally and emotionally. “Especially since you know how I feel about your presence around my son to begin with.“.
“Funny that you should mention that. Your son seems to like my presence around him, and the thing is, so do I. I love being around your son, and I know that if YOU back off, Nikolay and I would be very happy together. Nevertheless, the child is his, and I will prove it to you now.” I said,

challenging her. The woman’s eyes hardened and she grabbed me by my arm, squeezing it, making my heart race as my chest ached in fear. I had to admit, I was a little scared of what she would be doing. I was pregnant, and my baby was Nikolay’s, but would that give me the respect that I demand within this family?
Would they even look at me any differently? Would Nikolay love me again like he used to? Those were questions that played in my head as I feared the outcome of this. The love that I saw in his eyes toward Katerina was one that I didn’t even see toward ME, and that was something that killed

To him, I was a pleasure toy, someone he enjoyed having momentarily. But when it came to her, I was seeing a while new and different expression, and I knew that it wasn’t him admiring her outfits. No, the man was admiring her completely, and that was something that I couldn’t digest no matter how hard I tried.
It was something that killed me inside, and though I didn’t show it to anyone. I didn’t like what I was dealing with.
“What do you think you’re doing, mom?” Nikolay asked, processing what he just saw. The fact that he didn’t defend me instantly like he normally would have didn’t escape my mind, and I couldn’t help but wonder how he was going to treat me when he found out for sure that the baby was his. Would he be just as cold hearted? Or would he soften toward me?
Fear consumed me as his mother slammed the car’s door shut, and though I was completely quiet, unable to say a word, I still kept my eyes on Nikolay, studying his expression, hoping that he would be the same man that I grew to love. So far, I was seeing anything but the man that I loved. I was seeing a nightmare who was just waiting to unfold, and that was something that I didn’t like.
“I am doing what YOU are being too stupid to do. If the baby is yours, then we would be having a different topic in this, but for now, nothing is certain.” She said, looking at her son before getting inside the car. “You go and check on your wife. She currently needs YOU by her side, and you

The woman drove off before her son could respond, and though I didn’t like the way she spoke, I chose to stay quiet, wanting to see her reaction.
“Are you going to stay completely quiet?”
“I am curious to know how you would react when you hear that the baby is your grandchild. Unless, of course, you decide to disown or drop him.” I said, taunting her. “You know, this baby could be your family’s only heir. Her father has hurt her more than is known possible…”
“You are lucky that the baby came on the right time. Otherwise, I would have had your head for simply speaking the way that you are. As for Katerina, I will do everything in my power to ensure that she can give her husband a son. And then you would be forced to watch as you, again, would be thrown aside. The children would be treated equally, both would be mine, but I don’t think that you would expect me to have a whore who sleeps with a married man for the sake of love.”
“You wouldn’t know what love is if it hit you in the face. Who are you to judge?” I asked, shaking my head in question, waiting for her response.
“Your hell in this world, Anastasia.” She said, her tone hardening more than ever, letting me to know to stay quiet. “Now, let’s go and check on this child, and you pray that the baby is healthy to say the least. You know that my son is not the father but I will give you the benefit of doubts.”
“He is his son, and you are going to be the first to see that. For now, I will not be proving it to you. You, as any other mother in law, or any in law. relatives, would see the baby too well to know that he is your son’s child, and your grandchild. Now, about abandoning me for Katerina. It would depend on Nikolay entirely. As judging by what I saw. He abandoned her on her most critical state and stayed beside me, having a chit chat. You may say that I was the one who stopped him. Indeed, I may have been, but if he wanted to leave, he would and could have.” I said, crossing my arms over my chest. Waiting for what she had to say.

“We will see about that, little one. Because if not, I will be the one to ruin you. Enrique chose to give you your own space and your own privacy, but I wouldn’t hesitate to make you regret breaking up with him.” She said, glaring at me before she stopped in front of the hospital’s door, my heart raced against my chest as the two of us walked out of the car and into the hospital.
“Call me Dr. Andrea, I want him to be Anastasia’s doctor.” She said, and I frowned, shaking my head in question. The receptionist nodded and went to get the doctor while I sat down.
“Who?”
“The best doctor in the city. Enjoy the special treatment while it lasts, you would be losing it soon enough. For now, I will settle with the doctor.” She said, looking at me. “And if the baby is ours. New arrangements of servants, a place for you to stay, food, and a new lifestyle would be added. My apologies, but I will not have you passing out, getting sick, or not eating when maids are not around. Unless, of course, you want me to have a camera around the house”
“I would rather not have your cameras in my house. Thank you.” I said, feeling disgusted. The idea of being spied on by the hour was not something that I found as appealing at all.
“Then servants and your whole diet would be changing. The last thing that I want is for my grandchild to be tired, ill, or weak. You could also get hurt and for now, I did not want that. You can be after you give birth. And for that, you are going to pregnant woman sports, and exercise.” She ordered and I nodded, knowing that objecting right now would just end up giving me a headache.
“Ma’am, doctor Andrea would like to see you now…”
