Mason let out a sigh of relief as well. He crouched at the side, took his phone out of his windbreaker, and made a call, “Get my hospital ready for a patient. We’ll be there right away.”
There was a brief pause before someone answered, “Understood, Mr. Mason!”
Giving Zoe his phone, he helped Gordon up gently, carried him on his back, and went down the stairs. The elevator was out of order.
Mason carried a one hundred and fifty-four pounds grown man down ten levels. His white shirt was completely drenched in sweat, but time didn’t allow him to wipe his sweat.
Barking at Mia, who looked as panicked as a lost puppy, he said, ” Keep Dad upright. Make sure he doesn’t fall!” Then, he prompted Zoe
to get into the car.
Stepping on the gas pedal, he drove straight for Lockwood Hospital
The timely resuscitation and the best medical team in the city meant that everything was fine with Gordon. He just needed to stay in the hospital for a few nights.
It was midnight and Zoe was staying by her father’s side. Mia couldn’t bear seeing the dark circles below her eyes, “Go back home and take some rest. I’m here. I can watch over Gordon. If I need help, I can always ask the nurses!”

Putting down the food containers, he said, “Have some food, Mia. I’ll bring her to the room across the hallway so she can take a rest.”
Mia was very grateful for his help today. Standing up sharply, she said, “Thank you for everything, Mason!”
He could tell she was being polite, so he returned the favor, “I’m Zoe’s husband! That makes us family, Mia. I’m happy I can help.” With that, he grabbed Zoe’s shoulder and led her out of the room somewhat forcefully.
She didn’t fight back at all.
She stood in the center of the small lounge and spoke lightly once they entered the VIP ward across her father’s ward, “I have nothing to repay you, Mason! And I know for a fact that you didn’t do this out of the kindness of your heart.”
He was about to unbutton his shirt to take a bath when he heard what she said. Frowning, he stared at her under the fluorescent light for a spell. Then, he shuffled over to the couch and sat down. Instead of being upset, he laughed.
“You know me very well! Pray, tell. What do I hope to gain from you in
return?”
Lowering her head, she started unbuttoning her silk shirt. It fell off and he could see her delicate body started trembling. It was indescribably seducing and was more than enough to make a man lose control.
She spoke in a husky voice, “I have no idea what you want, but all I have is my body. You’re getting close to me again and I don’t know what you’re playing at this time. However, I’d rather let you have my
