Chapter 182
David chuckled, “The audience really likes us. The tickets for the show at Hucksburgh were sold out last night.”
Zoe was pleasantly surprised. She gave it some thought and said, ”
How about we hit the road tomorrow?”
David couldn’t resist making some jokes at her expense.
Ella was happy for her as well.
“I’m fine! Go ahead and work on your career. Also, send my thanks to Mason!” She held Zoe tightly. “Live a happy life with him if he treats. you well! Let the past stay in the past.”
Zoe responded with a husky voice, “Gotcha!”
They looked at each other and smiled with tears in their eyes, reminiscent of a simpler time that they shared when they were young.
Zoe left Ella’s place and got into the car. The chauffeur could tell she was in a cheerful mood. He leaned over and asked, “Are we going back to the manor, Ms. Zoe?”
Leaning on the seat, she booked a flight ticket to Hucksburgh for herself and sent a text to Mason.
It read, “Come home early tonight. I have something to tell you.”
e smiled lightly when she was done sending it, a hint of sweetness
traced her face.
The chauffeur had to ask again before she came back to her senses and said softly, “Take me to Prime Plaza! I need to buy something.”

Mason’s birthday was in two days.
She had to fly to Hucksburgh tomorrow morning, so there was no way she could celebrate it with him. He’d probably feel better if she
bought him a birthday present.
It took her half an hour to pick him a pair of exquisite cufflinks. It cost forty thousand dollars.
It was already seven o’clock by the time she returned to the villa, but Mason wasn’t home yet. He replied to her text and said he’d be home late. He asked her to have dinner first.
She wasn’t exactly hungry, so she took a bath instead. Then, she played with Sherry in the bathtub. Her face turned slightly red as the puppy lay in her arms.
After the soothing bath, she put on a black, silk bathrobe. The silk was soft to the touch and clung to her fair skin, giving it a sense of seductive charm.
They may have been married for many years, but she had never

broke the silence. Zoe snapped awake, but she still didn’t see Mason
anywhere.
She looked at the window in a daze Snowflakes spun and whirled in the wind. It was snowing again.
Then, the phone in the study rang again.
Thinking it was Mason, she carried Sherry and strolled to the study to answer it. The moment she opened the study, the phone stopped ringing.
She turned on the lights and the whole study was illuminated brightly.
Mason’s desk was spotless. There were only a few documents on it. Without thinking about it, she proceeded to tidy up the desk. Just as her lean fingers touched a document, her eyes grew darker and her face grew pale.
She couldn’t believe it. It was a psychoanalytic report of her, written by psychiatrists! Her husband was the one who asked for it! The same husband for whom she had put on asensual bathrobe to please!
Mason actually hired psychiatrists to tell him how to deal with her. There are detailed reports of everything that happened between him and her for the past few weeks.
Everything from when and how they had sex, including the intensity of it and every single reaction her body gave to his actions. All of it was written in excruciating detail. There were even descriptions of the
time when he fingered her in the ward!
The papers slid off her hands and fell. They didn’t make any sounds as they touched the floor, but Zoe could clearly hear the sound of her heart shattering into pieces.
Then, she could hear footsteps from the hallway. It sounded familiar. She recognized them. Mason was coming.

A moment later, he was standing at the door of the study. His wife was standing there and there were papers around her feet. It was the psychoanalytic reports and the relevant bills. He had forgotten to tuck them away.
