Chapter 202
She was blessed with the unique gift of fast recovery!
It couldn’t be helped that he touched her breasts when he was dressing her wounds. His breathing became irregular and he gulped involuntarily too. It wasn’t as if he didn’t want to do it, but he was concerned that it might make her feel disgusted.
Needless to say, she could tell that he was aroused, but she didn’t say it out loud. Then, the doorbell rang and she said, “That has to be the room service. Open the door for them!”
Tidying up her clothes, he stared at her intensely. After a brief pause, he asked gently, “Is it still possible to save our marriage?”
She didn’t respond to that.
The hotel staff knocked on the door more aggressively now. He had no choice but to open it and return with the food trolley.
They had a quiet dinner.
She was no longer as cold and distant as before. He’d speak to her and she’d reply to him once in a while. She looked fragile, but in a beautiful way when she was calm. That made him want to have sex
with her.
With that said, it was a different feeling from before. In the past, he had sex with her because he wanted to sate his lust or further his personal goal. Having their way with their beautiful wives after a long, busy day at work. It was the kind of dark thought in every man’s mind.
Now, however, he wanted to make her happy by making her feel pleasure.

That night, Mason slept in the same bed with her.
She couldn’t break free!
He pinned her down on the bed gently. Her black hair spread across the pillow as she lay on the black silk bedsheet, wearing nothing but her black bathrobe that revealed her smooth, delicate skin.
He was whispering and begging in her ear, “Let’s give it another shot! Okay?”
Snow was falling gently outside the window. The sight reminded her of what happened that night. Tears started welling up in her eyes, as she spoke in a husky voice, “You’re going to force yourself on me if I don’t agree to it. Isn’t that how it works, Mason?”
He stiffened immediately.
Moments later, he rolled aside, blocking the light on the ceiling. Then, he couldn’t stand it anymore and turned off every light in the room. It seemed he could find his courage to ask her this question if they were both in the darkness, “Were you hurt badly that night, Zoe?”
In response, she rolled over and curled into a ball, trying to keep herself away from harm. All of a sudden, he hugged her from behind.
He leaned over her and kissed her lips very gently. His heart was pounding when he uttered something he didn’t expect he’d say, “I won’t force myself on you anymore.
Then, he kissed her gently.
The kiss was very passionate, and he was keeping himself in line as well. His rapid breathing was proof of just how much he was controlling himself, but he did nothing except kiss her in all that time.
The kiss would go back and forth between intense and light. He’d also close his lips on hers from different angles, greedily taking in the

touch of her lips.
Their rapid breathing and the melting snow were the only sounds in the black of night.
He didn’t force himself on her. Instead, he pressed himself against the back of her ear, feeling warm and satisfied.
What he didn’t know was that this would be the last loving gesture
Zoe would do for him.
Mason felt around when he woke up the next morning. Then, he realized no one was sleeping next to him.
Zoe wasn’t on the bed!
He fixed his gaze on the ceiling quietly. After a long time, he got out of bed and started to search for her room by room. The suite was more than two thousand square feet and he had checked every single
room to no avail.
She was gone!
Her social security card and smartphone were gone. Apparently, she also took some change from his wallet. Then, he found out that she booked a flight back to Brookesville and it’d take off anytime now.
Standing in the wide, empty suite, it felt as if last night had been nothing more than a dream. He proceeded to give a call to her. She sounded cold and indifferent when she said, “I’m in the airport now, Mason. I’m going back to Brookesville.”
He responded softly, “I thought things changed since last night!”
Lowering her gaze, she smiled faintly amongst the bustling crowd in the airport. “What could’ve possibly changed? It’s over between us, Mason!”
