Staring at the ceiling, Ella ran her hand across her belly. She missed it. A tear fell from Zoe’s eyelash. “Ella…”
However, Ella flashed her a faint smile and said slowly, “Don’t feel sorry for me. I might’ve lost the baby, but I’ve still got you! I heard your crying earlier, Zoe!” Tears rolled down her cheeks too. “What a silly girl. Haven’t you noticed I’m back?”
Fighting her tears, Zoe nodded, “Yeah! You’re back! Oh. We have a lot of stuff to do and places to be! Are you hungry? I’ll make you something! You’ve been out of it for several days.”
Staring into her eyes, Ella said, “You grew slimmer!”
