I Refuse to Divorce! by Light Breeze Chapter 260

Chapter 260

Mason was sitting in the car when he raised his eyes and looked at the second floor. He asked softly, “Is Zoe home?”

Layla paused for a moment before answering, “Ms. Barbara hadn’t been feeling well. Ms. Zoe was taking care of her at her place. She’s been there for a few days now.”

He visibly relaxed and asked the servant to take his suitcases upstairs. Then, he drove toward Lockwood Manor.

Half an hour later, he had arrived and parked at Lockwood Manor. He didn’t ask the servants to announce his arrival to them. Instead, he walked straight into his grandma’s bedroom.

It was quiet in there. Barbara was leaning on a pillow, resting her eyes while Zoe leaned on the side of the bed. It looked like she was asleep,

Instead of waking Barbara up, he sat next to Zoe and touched her cheeks lightly. She had gotten slimmer. Her face, which was already small to begin with, looked smaller than his palms now.

Then, she jolted awake. She remained quiet, even though she saw the weariness on his face from all the traveling.

She wasn’t thrilled nor upset to see him.

Not willing to let him touch her, she leaned back a little. However, he held the back of her neck, locking her in place, and asked softly,” Does it still hurt?”

With a nonchalant tone, she said, “I’m going to freshen up.” Then, she pushed him aside, stood up, and headed to the restroom.

He was about to follow her when Barbara’s eyes snapped open. She held his arms with her scrawny hands.

Her voice was indescribably husky when she said, “I was already awake just now! I didn’t know you hit her until your little conversation earlier. Zoe was raised in a wealthy family and lived a sheltered life, Mason. You should let her go if you don’t love her.”

That stunned him. That was the last thing he expected his grandma to tell him. She had always wanted them to stay together.

Barbara’s eyes were still closed when she continued, “I’m ill, but I can still see things! I can tell she’s not happy! If you care about her, even just a little, you should let her go!”

After a long period of silence, he responded softly, “I can’t do it, Grandma.”

He saw tears in the corner of his grandma’s eyes. She felt really ill So, she couldn’t speak too long, “She’s not your father. She has never done anything wrong by you, Mason. I’m just scared that you’ll regret it one day.”

Raising his head, he didn’t say anything. After a moment, he turned his head to the side and saw Zoe standing at the restroom door.

Zoe still wasn’t speaking to him when they were on their way home. Pulling the car over, he leaned to the side and asked her, “I’ve been away for so long. Isn’t there anything you want to say to me?”

Looking at the road quietly, she asked, “What do you want me to say?” A faint smile crept up her face, “Do you want me to admit how much you loved and cared about Lilith? Or, should I give you my blessing to be with her?”

Then, he took her hands in his. She wanted to pull away, but he wouldn’t let her. Staring at the side of her face, he said gently, “I regret it very you do it,

much. You can hit me in return, Zoe! I don’t care how

just hit me! Stop giving me the cold shoulder!”

He was just outrageous, Zoe thought.

Didn’t he start an ambiguous relationship with Lilith and slap her for his lover’s sake? Wasn’t he the one who was so busy that he couldn’t even find time to listen to her?

Why act as if he still loved her deeply now?

This was just ironic.

Turning her face to the side, she said softly, “Just drive. I want to go home and rest.”

At the next moment, he carried her and put her down on his

lap. Then, her body pressed tightly against his. She could even feel him having at boner.

That summed it all up. After all, he had been away for a month and Lilith couldn’t help him with his needs. He probably had been holding it in for a long time and thought of using her to sate his lust the moment he came back.

She managed to duck his kisses, but she couldn’t stop him from touching her. His body was burning with desire.

He wanted to have sex with her badly. So, he took off her stockings and let it hang on her slender feet.

However, Zoe wasn’t about to let him have his way.

Clutching his collar, she panted and said softly, “I’m pregnant, Mason
