Mason wanted to hold her, but she wouldn’t let him near her. She said softly, “Don’t come any closer, Mason! Stay where you are!” 

It sounded like she was at her wit’s end. 

He didn’t even realize that Zoe succumbed to postpartum depression. Her family was torn apart and she had no loved ones at her side, so she didn’t even have anyone to confide in. 

To make things worse, he kept her here against her will and insisted that he was making it up to her, not realizing the irony of his actions! 

It was a mess in the bedroom and it felt suffocating in there. 

Both of them used to have sweet, endearing moments, but this was where they were now. 

Mason continued to keep her in the manor against her will. Mia didn’t know what else to do. Ella tried a lot of ways. She had used every method imaginable to try to spring Zoe out, but she couldn’t even meet up with her. 

That was when she finally realized just how powerful Mason actually 

was! 

Zoe was still trapped in the manor and she continued to give Mason the cold shoulder. Everyone knew that there was no saving this broken mess of a relationship. 

A week later, Lisa arrived to see Yanni. The baby’s skin was fair and tender, looking very endearing. Yanni’s brow reminded her of Zoe so much.

She said to Mason softly, “You’ve arranged to have so many bodyguards in the manor, Mason. How long do you plan on keeping her here? 

“Are you going to keep her here until she yields? Let me remind you that she came from the Sanders family. She lived a sheltered life when she was young. She’s not going to yield, Mason…” 

He was standing by the window and looking at the scenery out there. Lisa played with Yanni as she spoke, “Moreover, you’re at the peak of your life. You need a wife who’s affectionate and thoughtful. Yanni needs a mother who can take better care of her as well. Looking at Zoe right now, I doubt she can even take care of herself.” 

Clearly, all of these could only lead to one conclusion. She wanted him to divorce Zoe and marry Gabriela instead. 

He wasn’t sure how much he loved Zoe, nor did he want to think about how much was left to save from their marriage. All he knew was that he didn’t want an ending as bleak as it was now. 

So, he responded lightly, “I’ve heard enough!” 

Divorce is not in the cards! 

Lisa, on the other hand, had seen a lot in her life. So, she smiled lightly and said, “You’re a man. You need to look after your company and your baby, Mason. How long do you think it’s going to last if only one of you is in love with the other?” 

After that, she left and Layla carried the baby upstairs. 

Mason proceeded to the study and smoked several cigarettes in there. Then, he made his way to the bedroom. 

The bedroom was dimly lit and Zoe was wearing a bathrobe, breastfeeding Yanni on the bed. He stood behind her and admired the

view. Her shoulder was slender and her thick, black hair cascaded on the white pillow. He could hardly tell she had just given birth to a baby. 

Once she was fed, Yanni lay quietly in her mother’s arms. Her cheeks were so perky and she was mild and calm. 

Zoe lowered her head and stared at her. Looking at her baby was the only way she could find solace for a moment. That was the only time she felt alive. 

Her mind would travel to wild, alarming thoughts if Yanni wasn’t with her. She’d become fearful after a while. 

A thought was brewing in his mind. 

What Lisa said had unnerved him. 

He was a healthy, virile man. On the other hand, Zoe looked seductive with her bathrobe half-opened. The sight provoked his lust. So, he decided he’d hug her. He wasn’t going to do anything more than that. He merely wanted to feel close to her. 

Lying down behind her, he kissed her neck and breathed to the back of her ear, where she was sensitive. 

That was what they did before having sex for real. 

Zoe’s body stiffened. She could easily sense that he wanted it when he was so close to her. Ducking out of the way, she said coldly,” You’re free to find other ladies to sate your lust, Mason. I don’t mind.”

However, he chose to ignore her and hug her. Then, he started
