Chapter 294
Ella tried every method she could think of, but she couldn’t even meet Zoe.
Mia cried her eyes out every day.
Out of options, she decided she’d look for Leslie’s help. The night before, she smoked cigarettes throughout the entire night on the balcony. She even drank beers.
Then, she started chuckling in tears when she was drunk. She murmured Leslie’s name over and over again.
She hated him to the bone!
Leslie was sitting in his office at the Imperial Hotel. He rested his legs on the desk. He was having the fiercest fight with the Lynches lately. So, he was tense and irritable.
Then, his assistant, Lidia, came in, looking troubled, “Ms. Ella is here to see you, Mr. Leslie.”
Who the hell is this Ella?
Without much thought, he decided he didn’t want to meet the
stranger. He said casually, “Send her packing! Issue her a check if she doesn’t leave. Tell her to keep her mouth shut about it.”
However, Lidia didn’t leave. She added, “It’s Ms. Ella, Mr. Leslie. It’s Ms Zoe’s friend!”
Was it the same Ella he knew?
He was stunned for a while before putting his legs down.

Moments later, Lidia was leading Ella into his office.
She had worked for Leslie for a long time, so she was perfectly aware of his history with Ella. Thus, she gave them some space as soon as she brought her to his office.
The bronze door closed with a heavy clang.
Ella stood at the door and looked at Leslie quietly. He did the same thing. Both of them were quiet for a long time.
He proceeded to put away the wine glass on his desk and snuff out the cigarette between his fingers. The truth was, he used a lead a wild life as well when they were together in the past. Now, however, he was reluctant to let her see him living like this.
Ella watched as he cleaned up his desk. After a long time, she spoke softly, “I planned on cutting ties with you for the rest of my life, Leslie. You’re a married man and I don’t want to get tangled up with you! However, I need a favor from you. I want to meet Zoe.”
Raising his eyes, he looked at her and cast his mind to when they had a lot of fun in this very office. He had done a lot of depraved things to her in this place. If he didn’t care about her, then he would’ve kept her as his mistress. However, he didn’t have the heart to do so anymore!
Staring at her quietly, he chose not to answer her questions. Instead, he asked her, “How about you? Is everything going well for you?”
“Nothing’s fine,” she said. “I can’t find peace for as long as Zoe suffers! I know everything is over between us and you have no
obligation to help me, but Zoe is the only family I have left. I would beg you if it can help her! If you want something in exchange for the trouble, then…
That was when Leslie cut her off.

He proceeded to look into her eyes She didn’t walk over to him and he kept the distance as well. They were merely five inches away from each other. It seemed this was the safe and appropriate distance.
He didn’t offer to see her off when she turned and left, either.
Instead, he merely sat there and watched her go, quietly.
With Leslie’s help, Ella finally got to meet Zoe.
