Chapter 302
It was close to seven o’clock at night by the time Mason returned to the manor Zoe
had finished her dinner.
She was feeling better recently, but he still hadn’t called off the bodyguards. It was a snowy day, but all of them were committed to their duties and stood guard at every
comer of the manor.
Luke parked the car and Mason stepped out of it. He left the gifts in there on purpose because he wanted to give Zoe a surprise.
Walking through the door, he gave his black overcoat to Layla and peeped at the living room before asking, “Did Zoe have her dinner?”
Taking his overcoat, Layla smiled faintly, “She did! It snowed this afternoon. Ms. Zoe even carried Yanni downstairs and admired the snow by the window in the evening.
Yanni might be young and small, but she wasn’t afraid of it. On the contrary, she kept giggling. I think she likes snow!”
Affection filled his heart as he took off his shoes and headed upstairs.
The light was warm and yellowish in the bedroom on the second floor. The heater was turned on and it felt as warm as it was in spring.
Zoe wore a light pink woolen dress. She stood by the crib and played with Yanni. She tied her hair casually as she didn’t have to step out of her house. Her features looked delicate from the side and she wore a mild expression on her face.
Tears filled his eyes, but he didn’t disrupt the moment.

This moment was so warm and lovely that he happened in the past. It felt as if they were merely a sweet couple who were
wallowing in happiness.
Raising her eyes, she saw the affection in his
eyes.
Walking over, he stood by the crib with her and said tenderly, “I bought you guys
Christmas gifts! I left them in the car by mistake. You should get them now!”
Then, he started playing with his baby Vanni recognized him and kicked her legs
excitedly, reminding him of a frog. His face grew softer at that and he leaned in to
kiss her.
Putting on the coat, Zoe got ready to go downstairs, but he called out to her and gave her a putter jacket. He said affectionately, “It’s cold out there. Put this on“”
She smiled faintly and walked out of the bedroom.
It was snowing heavily out there and Layla wanted to escort her out with an umbrella, but she turned down her offer because Mason’s car was extremely close.
Then she opened the backseat door and the light inside turned on by itself. She saw
two gift boxes on the seats. One of them was a Christmas–themed toy for Yanni while another was an orange LV box. She guessed that he bought her a scarf.
Just as she was about to close the car door, a strand of long hair caught her
attention. Picking it up, she thought the black hair must’ve measured about fifteen inches long. She observed a trace of maroon color. It seemed like it was dyed in the
past.
She looked at it quietly. After a brief moment, she thought she knew who it belonged
- to. It was probably Eira!
However, she didn’t make any noise. Instead, she took the two gift boxes and closed
the car door lightly. Walking back into the manor, she thought about how Mason
was going to let her go very soon now that he had found himself a new plaything.
With that said, Eira reminded her about Lilith and all of the pain she put her
through. These were something she didn’t want to recall. Otherwise, she might fall into depression.
By the time she went back to the manor, there was some snow on her puffer jacket. Layla brushed them off for her while saying, “Mr. Mason’s going to be worried if you catch a cold, Ms. Zoe!”
She smiled faintly in response before climbing the stairs slowly. Layla watched as she left, her heart filled with indescribable emotions.
Zoe took off her coat once she was back in the warm bedroom. Mason was holding
Yanni in his arms and admiring snow by the window. The little one was giggling happily in her father’s embrace. At this moment, he looked nothing short of the most loving husband and father in the world.
She proceeded to open the gifts and decorated Yanni’s crib with the Christmas-
themed toys.
