Mason proceeded to put Yanni back in the crib. Then, he hugged Zoe from behind, leaned into her ear, and asked lightly, “Why didn’t you open your gift? Go on. See if
you like it!”
She didn’t like him getting close to her like this, Shrugging him off gently, she went to open her gift and saw the light pink scarf in there. He put it on for her and said gently. “It looks good on you!”
It had been days since he last had sex with her. Moreover, she looked better recently. So, he couldn’t help but think about getting intimate with her. To drive the point home, it was Christmas Eve tonight. Naturally, he was affected by the holiday
and wanted to do something romantic.
Hugging her from the back, he breathed at her ear and said with a husky voice, “Let’s give it a try, Zoe. I’ll stop the moment you feel uncomfortable.”
Before she could answer, he swooped her up and put her down on the couch. Leaning on the couch with one hand, he held her hand with another and kissed her. He murmured, “I’ll make sure to pleasure you. You can go ahead and climax first. I
won’t mind.”
Her black hair fell and cascaded across her back. Lowering her head, she looked at him. Both lust and affection filled his face and she thought to herself that he probably didn’t know that he still had the fragrance of another lady’s perfume on

would wear.
Zoe didn’t want to go on with it. So, she stopped him from pleasuring her. Turning
her face to the side, she looked at the bodyguards downstairs and said in a husky

He was stunned. Raising his eyes, he realized that there was no lust in her eyes. A
cold indifference was all he could see in them.
Mason was a man with strong lust. At the end of the day, he wanted nothing more than her craving to have sex with him. Now, he found her coldness a turnoff.
That was it for him. He no longer had the urge to have sex. So, he paused and panted lightly in her neck for a while before saying nonchalantly, “We’ll talk about it in the
future!”
If men couldn’t get any affection in their own homes, then they would start
searching for it out there.
Mason started spending less time at his manor. There was some work he could’ve done at home, but he chose to do it at his office. On top of that, he no longer found time to accompany Zoe. He wouldn’t even ask her to have sex with him, much less
find ways to make her happy.
The way he treated her was growing colder with each passing day.
However, that didn’t mean he wouldn’t go home every day. He’d routinely play with
Yanni a little before taking a shower and hitting the sack. Sometimes, he’d sleep
next to Zoe, but he wouldn’t touch her. He didn’t need that kind of aggravation.
Days passed and Mason’s phone rang in the middle of the night. It was a call made by a young lady who could no longer suppress her feelings and took action before
she could stop herself.
Casting a glance at his phone, he realized it was Eira. It was midnight now. So, he
hung up the phone quietly and turned it off before putting it on the nightstand.
He laid back down and saw that Zoe’s eyes were open, but she didn’t say anything to
him. All she did was stare at the ceiling quietly. In fact, she had had trouble sleeping
every night lately.
Lying down next to her, he leaned over and hugged her after a long time,
murmuring, “Aren’t you going to ask me about it?”
It took her less than two seconds to know who made the call.
However, she didn’t care about it. She wasn’t going to ask him anything either.
