It was the middle of the night when Mason pulled his car over in front of an apartment. The snow was falling heavily and Eira, who was waiting for him downstairs, was particularly agitated.
The moment she saw him, she leaped into his arms and couldn’t help but murmur, I’m so scared, Mr. Mason! Wendy took four sleeping pills. I thought she would die

He closed the car door with his backhand, lowered his head, and stared at the young lady in his arms. She did cross the line, but he didn’t scowl at her. Instead, he merely
pushed her away lightly. “Is she okay now?”
Eira raised her eyes and looked at him. There were tears in her puppy–like eyes.
Biting her lips, she said, “Her family made it here. They’re trying to comfort her now.
So, it might not be a good time to visit her in the dorm.”
Then, she looked both shy and uneasy. She was still hesitating when he opened the
door to the passenger seat and said nonchalantly, “Get in the car!”
She couldn’t read Mason. He came all the way here in the middle of the night, but he
went ahead and pushed him away earlier. Now, however, he asked her to get in the
passenger seat.
It was her understanding that men only ever allowed their wives or girlfriends in
the passenger seat. With that in mind, did it mean that he secretly thought of her as
his girlfriend? Was that why he allowed her to sit in the passenger seat?
Exhilarated, she got into the car.
Moments later, he got in the car as well. Turning on the heater, he leaned back on
his seat, opened a new packet of cigarettes, and started smoking. Wisps of light
green smoke lingered in the car.
He looked so charming when he smoked that Eira’s face turned red and her heart
started pounding. She waited for a long time for him to speak to her, but he merely kept smoking. In fact, he didn’t so much as look at her.
She couldn’t help but feel disheartened
Snow began falling gently outside and blanketed the car quietly. Out of nowhere, Mason recalled that Kirk Manot wasn’t far from here. The view there must’ve been

His face became more charming when he thought about Zoe.
Eira couldn’t resist leaning over and calling out to him in an adorable voice, “Ahem.
Mr. Mason.”
Turning his head to the side, he looked at her and snuffed out his cigarette. His
voice was husky when he asked, “What’s the matter?”
Three words. That was all it took to make her fall for him completely. Her face was red and her heart was pounding. She had all but forgotten about what she wanted to
say to him
After a long time, she finally murmured, “The cigarette is a little stifling!”
He turned on the wiper to sweep away the snow from the windshield and looked at
the road before chuckling lightly, “I’ll stop smoking then!”
He was a mature man. All he had to do was flirt with her a little. Eira didn’t even
stand a chance! Just like that, he had won her heart.
After that, both of them sat in the car alone for a long time.
It was three o’clock in the morning by the time Wendy’s parents carried their daughter down the stairs and intended to send her to the hospital.
Mason opened the car door for them. His black Land Rover was so luxurious and elegant that Wendy’s parents were dumbfounded. They lived in the suburbs and had
never seen a car this extravagant, much less a man so elegant as him.
He was driving to the hospital when Eira took on a more active role. She kept comforting their passengers gently, telling them that everything was going to be
okay. Wendy’s father was very grateful for their help.
“We owe you a big one, Mr. Mason! Am I right in saying you’re Eira’s boyfriend? You’re quite the looker, young man.”
