Chapter 327
Mason kissed her as soon as she uttered it.
He had been suppressing himself all this time. Hearing Liam on the phone with Zoe tiled him up too. So, he kissed her recklessly and sucked every drop of sweet nectar
from her.
Their bodies were rubbing against each other and their tongues entangled.
However, they could still sense each other’s pain amidst this passionate kiss. After a
long time, he let go of her lips at last. The moment he did it, Zoe slapped him
fiercely. Instead of getting upset, he buried his face in her neck and panted lightly.
He could still taste her lips in his mouth.
She tried to push him away, but she couldn’t because he was holding her so tightly.
His heart was pounding like crazy because of what he was about to say to her. He
murmured in her ear, “I love you, Zoe.”
There. He said it. He loved her. She was the only lady he had ever loved since the
very beginning.
This was possibly the worst timing to be confessing, but he couldn’t hold himself
back anymore. He used to mistreat her, but that was all in the past now. From now
on, he’d watch over her until the day she forgave him.
The moonlight shone its dim rays onto her pale cheeks.
She was stunned for a few seconds before she shoved him away and said coldly,”
Aren’t you here to give me the divorce certificate?”
His eyes grew darker.
Lowering her gaze, she chuckled nonchalantly, “Did you really think I’d still love you
after you sent me to that hellhole, Mason? How the tables have turned. Who’s got a
screw loose now?”
His face grew pale when he heard that.
After a brief moment, he opened the car door and reached in to take the divorce
certificate. Then, he handed it to her, but he didn’t release his grip until some time had passed. His voice was soft when he said, “It doesn’t matter if you believe me or not, Zoe, but that was the biggest mistake of my life and I regret it deeply.”
Paging through the divorce certificate, she read it. By the time she raised her eyes, all sorts of emotions rose in her chest, but he couldn’t tell.
He watched as she left. She looked slender from the back. Her hands were tugging at her coat’s collar, looking graceful and delicate.
All of a sudden, she turned around. The crystal chandelier on the ceiling shone brightly on her cheeks as she stood on the steps, stared at him, and said with a
smile, “Goodbye, Mason!”
A warm feeling washed over him. What he didn’t know was that Zoe was saying
goodbye to him for good.
He said, “It’s cold out here. Hurry on up!”
She gave him one last glance before she climbed the stairs slowly.
Mason stood there for a long time, watching her.
Then, he turned around and left. He had just gotten into his car when somebody
blocked him. It was none other than Eira.
The night was dark and she was lightly dressed. A hint of stubbornness crossed her
face as she stared right into his eyes.
She saw it.
He kissed Zoe and got slapped for it!
As far as she knew, he didn’t love his ex–wife. So, why did he try to soothe her
instead of getting mad?
The Mason she knew was elegant and aloof. She had never seen him this in love
with someone.
She couldn’t accept it.
Lowering his car window, he leaned back on the seat and lit a cigarette.
Eira ran over to him immediately, a look of hurt traced her pale face. Then, she begged pitifully, “Can you please have mercy on Uncle Eric and Aunt Carly, Mr. Mason? Can you please have someone treat their broken legs? They’re downright
miserable now.”
He merely sat in the car.
It was warm in there, so he took off his coat, revealing a white shirt that made him
look more extraordinarily elegant.
His gaze was so profound that it sent a chill down her spine.
She didn’t dare utter another word!
Turning his head to look at the road, he took his sweet time to finish smoking the
cigarette by half. Then, he snuffed it out and said coldly, “Search your soul. Are you doing this for them? Or did their misfortune give you the perfect opportunity to try. and seduce me again?”
She was startled by what he said.
She couldn’t help but feel as though he saw through her. In a trembling voice, she
said, “Mr. Mason…”
