Chapter 331
Three years went by and Mason was having dinner with a lady at The One Gourmet, one of the most luxurious restaurants in the city. She holds the position of an assistant director in an investing company. At the same time, she was also the only daughter of the director of a group company.
Her name was Ramona García.
She liked him a lot. So, she asked him out in the name of business and had a dinner
date with him.
Arriving at the restaurant, he noticed the romantic vibes of the place and the overtly sexy dress Ramona was wearing. It was obvious what she was trying to do here.
However, he didn’t call her out on it.
He ate his dinner and talked about the details of their collaboration, not interested in her provocative dress in the least. He was like a devoted monk, who was
unmoved in the face of temptation.
Some time had passed and the lady started to get impatient. Holding a glass of red wine in her hands, she flashed him a tantalizing smile. “Now that we’re done with business, let’s talk about something more intimate. I’m very interested in learning
more about you, Mason.”
Perhaps being more forthright was the way to go.
Mason didn’t sidestep the to
either. His eyes were dark as he trained his gaze on the lady before him, who was eager to win his heart. After a brief moment, he smiled faintly, “Do you really find me that interestning? All I ever talk about is my wife and
my kid.”
She wouldn’t let up. “Aren’t you divorced?”
His smile faded at that, “An ex–wife is still a wife, Rowena. I still share a kid with
her.” He made it obvious that he rejected her advances.
Feeling embarrassed, she tried to tempt him again by tossing and twirling her hair a

little, revealing her fair neck. What she didn’t realize was that a waitress was walking by with a French oxtail soup at the same moment.
Her sudden gesture shocked the waitress, who, in turn, spilled the entirety of the soup on her luxurious dress. In an instant, it was ruined.
What a wonderful sight!
However, the same couldn’t be said for Rowena. She wasn’t going to let this incident pass without dumping her frustration on someone. Pointing at the waitress, she barked, “What the hell is this? Look what you’ve done to my custom–tailored dress!”
A custom–tailored dress was typically worth twenty thousand dollars.
The young waitress was shocked and on the brink of tears. She stuttered when she tried to clarify the situation. “I didn’t mean to do it. You raised your hands suddenly when I passed by. Actually, you swung your hands quite far back just now.”
Rowena was a tough lady. She wasn’t about to let a waitress talk back to her. However, she was also aware that the waitress couldn’t afford to pay for her dress.
So, she asked for her to call the manager.
Biting her lips, tears started to well up in the waitress’s eyes. She was worried she might lose her job over this.
At that moment, all of them heard a lady’s voice. It sounded tender and sophisticated. “What’s the matter?”
He recognized that voice…
Whipping his head around, he saw Zoe.
Autumn had just come and she was wearing a white Chanel suit. Her skin was as white as snow and her black hair was tied back casually, exuding an easy elegance.
Instead of wearing luxurious jewelry, she merely wore a pair of exquisite pearl
earrings.
He stared, almost losing control of himself!
It had been three years since she left.
Three. Whole. Years.
Just when he thought she’d never come back or forgive him, she appeared before
his eyes.
Zoe noticed him too. She stared at him calmly for several seconds before aveting her gaze casually.
The waitress gave her the rundown of the situation.
Then, Zoe tapped her shoulder and asked her to go back to her work. Rowena was from Hucksburgh, so she didn’t recognize Zoe.
Wiping the stain from her dress, she said arrogantly, “I see you’ve asked her to leave. Does that mean you’re going to pay for my custom–tailored dress?”
Smiling faintly, Zoe said, “Sure thing!”
Rowena was slightly surprised. She didn’t expect Zoe to be this agreeable to her claim. Then, she paused to consider that the owner of The One Gourmet probably made tens of millions of dollars in profits alone. Naturally, she could afford to pay
for her dress.
She was about to take her up on her offer when Zoe said gently, “Here’s how we’ll do it, Ms. Rowena. We’ll check the security footage. If my waitress is solely responsible for this incident, I’ll gladly pay for the dress. However, if she isn’t…”
Rowena turned down her offer before she could finish. “That won’t be necessary. It’s just a dress. I’m not going to trouble myself over something so petty.”
