Chapter 363
Mason didn’t say anything in response.
Tightening his grip, he pulled her darling figure closer into his arms. He even started kissing the back of her ear and said in a husky voice,” I can see that. All I want is to give you a hug.”
She smiled faintly at what he said.
He was well aware of how cold she was toward him. Pressing against her tender body, he murmured, “Let’s be a real couple for the next year, at least!”
Never had he thought he’d lower himself in the name of love.
He stared at her intently, waiting for her response.
Still smiling faintly, she responded, “Sure.”
Then, he pinned her on the wall and started kissing her passionately. Taking off her pajamas, he intended to pleasure her and make her feel happy.
At this moment, however, Yanni woke up in the bedroom. Rubbing her eyes, she sat upright. Still wearing the same cow print onesie, she groaned cutely, “I need to use the restroom!”
His body stiffened immediately, but he was still pinning Zoe on the wall. There was the lust she hadn’t seen for a long time in his eyes. Pushing his shoulder, she said, “Yanni’s woken up.”
Then, he released her wordlessly, but his gaze followed her every movement. She put her pajamas back on frantically and responded to Yanni. It was then he detected a slight, unusual huskiness in her voice.
The air seemingly sizzled with erotic anticipation.
All of a sudden, he gripped her arm and refused to let her go. Pinning her on the door, he pressed down on her with his body and grinded against her.
Closing her eyes gently, she moaned, “Yanni’s calling for me!”
Leaning over, he murmured in her ear, “It seems you’re enjoying yourself more now than you did last night.”
Her face burned up and she pushed him away before heading out.
He gave himself a moment to calm down, got changed, and went out. of the fitting room as well.
What happened earlier made the both of them more affectionate towards each other, albeit subtly, during breakfast.
Even Mia could tell something was up.
At first, she didn’t have plans to move in with them, but she just couldn’t leave Yanni out of her sight. Moreover, she could lend a voice if Zoe needed some help.
Mia kept quiet throughout breakfast.
Worried that she might’ve held back some concerns, Zoe tried to talk to her privately when they were making an omelet for Yanni in the kitchen.
After a brief moment, she still couldn’t bring herself to ask it.
On the other hand, Mia knew that it must’ve been hard for her to say it. So, she opted to break the silence instead. “What’s your heart telling you right now?”
What a tough question…
Mia continued making the omelet and added before Zoe could say anything, “I just want you to know that I would’ve been okay with it if you really started loving Mason again. Even your dad would be fine
with it too!
“The last several years hadn’t been kind to you. On top of that, I can. tell Mason is a changed man. This time, he really wanted to give you the life you deserve! And I think you know Yanni loves him too!”
Truth be told, Mia wondered if she should tell Zoe about this for the entire night. She, too, hated Mason, but her love for Zoe and Yanni was bigger than that
Zoe was aware of her concerns too. Lending a hand to Mia with the omelet, she said softly, “Let’s talk about this later, Mia! I think I’ll move back to Silvercrest when the time comes
At that moment, all sorts of emotions rose in Mia’s chest.
What they didn’t know was that Mason stood at the door for a long time. He heard everything they said to each other. More importantly, he heard her saying that she was going back to Silvercrest.
He stood there in a daze for a long time.
He didn’t come back to his senses until Zoe came out and saw him. They exchanged glances and tried to guess what each other was thinking.
She had no idea how long he had been standing there and how much he had overheard.
Composing himself quickly, he said in a casual tone. “I’m off to work. We need to take Yanni to the hospital for a check-up four in the
afternoon. You can take her to Lockwood Corporation and wait for me there. We’ll go to the hospital together.”
He didn’t let anything show on his face or in his tone. Instead, he
talked to her the way they’d talk about the weather.
Nodding, she responded, “Okay! I’ll bring her over later in the afternoon.”
Taking a step back, he fished for the pack of cigarettes in his front pocket without thinking. Then, he smiled faintly when he couldn’t find anything in there and was reminded that he was abstaining from smoking.
Then, they heard a honk from the yard. Luke was here to take him to work.
Poking his head into the kitchen, he called out, “I’m headed to work, Mia!”
Mia responded nonchalantly, “Mm-hmm.” She might’ve sounded indifferent, but she did respond to him.
Now, that’s something!
