Ella was wearing the ruby necklace on her neck. 

Clearly, she and Farley were a couple! 

He might’ve looked calm on the surface, but he was actually shocked 

to the core. It turned out that Zoe and Farley weren’t a couple. Instead, Ella was his girlfriend. That meant that Zoe was single. 

It was a huge deal, especially for him! 

He used to assume that Zoe was Farley’s girlfriend and even fantasized about them having sex together. That, in turn, made it hard for him to sleep with her because he couldn’t accept having to ‘share’ 

her with another man. 

Now, however, he felt an intense urge to have sex with her as soon as he could. 

Then, he got into his car. He might’ve been over thirty years old, but he was as impulsive and passionate as he was when he was a teenager. All he wanted to do now was go back to Kirk Manor and see Zoe at once. 

Luke was about to start driving when a slender silhouette blocked the car’s path. 

It was none other than Eira. 

Now that the car was paused, she seized the opportunity, ran to the backseat, and rapped the car window. “I need to see you, Mr. Mason.” He thought about it for a couple of seconds before lowering the car window. He was sitting in the car, dressed in a crisp white shirt and looking sharp, while she stood outside the car, wearing a miserable and pathetic expression on her face. 

Glancing at his dashing feature, she asked him woefully, “Why won’t you love me?” 

Tilting his head, he looked at her wordlessly and gave her nothing. 

However, she knew this could be the last time she could talk to him openly. So, she decided she’d come clean and question him directly,” Three years! That’s how long it took me to get where I am today. All I want is to get closer to you. Why are you stripping away my privilege?” 

“This is not so much a privilege as it is your own selfish needs!” His tone was as indifferent as it could be. “No one asked you to do this! More to the point, nobody asked you to sleep around just so you could move back to Brookesville! 

“I didn’t fire you because Zoe asked me to. On the contrary, I fired you because you’ve done things that I can’t and won’t tolerate. You can’t separate your work life from your personal life. On top of that, you don’t know your place and overstepped your boundaries by harassing my family!” 

Her face turned pale at what he said. “Aren’t you guys divorced?” 

His expression turned frigid. Instead of answering her question, he threatened her. “If I find you harassing Zoe again, then you’ll suffer the same fate as Lilith’s parents did.” 

At the next moment, he barked at Luke, “Drive!” 

Eira was still stunned by what he said when Luke ignited the engin Then, she caught herself and ran after his car, smacking its window aggressively. “Mr. Mason! Mr. Mason…” 

All he left her with was the exhaust fumes as his car drove off into the distance. 

In the middle of the night, Ava walked on her high heels and stopped behind Eira. “I’m sure you feel that he’s being unfair to you. Why did it 

work when Zoe pestered him? Why couldn’t you win his heart, having done the same thing?” 

Eira bit her lips at what she said. 

Ava continued softly, “Every man has a side that no one has ever seen. To put it plainly, they have kinks that the world didn’t know about! Believe me when I say Zoe embodies all of Mason’s kinks! 

“You, on the other hand, embody nothing. Take my advice and stop wasting your time on him. He’ll never love you.” 

With that, she turned and left Eira alone.
