I Refuse to Divorce! by Light Breeze Chapter 370

Chapter 370

He might’ve dressed modestly, but she could never forget him. She’d remember his face to her dying breath.

So much time had passed and he finally returned!

They locked gazes with each other. In fact, they hadn’t even filed for divorce. So, technically, they were still a married couple. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she tried and failed to grasp the twist

on the situation.

As far as she was concerned, Westley was long dead. Why else

wouldn’t he return to Ruby and Cecil? It had been so long. Needless to say, she had plenty of chances to ask Ruby about his whereabouts, but the thought had never crossed her mind.

She had her pride, after all.

Her lips started trembling. She had loved him with all of her heart. Since the split, that love had been twisted into hatred that lasted for as long as she lived. Then, she murmured, “You’re such a heartless monster!”

He took a step forward.

However, she fell back with a dazed look on her face. Then, she staggered and left the scene in a hurry.

Westley was long dead in some foreign country, as far as she was concerned.

Yanni was standing at the manor’s gate. She still wanted to play outside and had no intention of going back home to sleep. She wanted to play on the lawn in the yard.

Mia doted on her a lot. So, she, too, began to beg Zoe. “Take a stroll with her, please. I’m going to go ahead and prepare something for her

to eat.”

Lowering her head, Zoe looked at Yanni, who was looking right back at her with glinting eyes. Her voice was particularly tender when she said, “You’re the best, Grandma!”

Then, she blew Mia a kiss.

A mixed feeling of fondness and desolation washed over Mia. How she wished she could trade places with Yanni and suffer on her behalf. She looked at her granddaughter affectionately. She loved her so much that she would do anything for her.

The thing was that Yanni should’ve been napping right about now.

Zoe had been a stickler for routines, but she chose to go along with Yanni’s wishes now. Plus, she didn’t have the heart to go against Mia’s will.

Not only did she take a stroll with her little girl, but she also asked Layla to bring the puppy out. So, Yanni and Sherry played with each. other and had an awesome time together.

Leaning back on the bench, she admired the heartwarming view.

Autumn had barely begun, but she already felt a little chilly. She tugged at her scarf to warm herself.

At that moment, Yanni ran over to her. Beads of sweat rolled down

her cheeks and she asked for Zoe to wipe them off.

Taking out a handkerchief, Zoe wiped her face and looked at her affectionately.

All of a sudden, Yanni leaped into her arms and gasped, “There’s an old man outside.”

Turning around, she looked out the gate and saw a middle-aged man. He was tall, lean, and looked refined as well as sophisticated. For a second there, she thought she was looking at Mason, only twenty years older.

She immediately guessed who he was.

Clearly, it was Westley!

Memories about Barbara flooded over her as she fixed her gaze on him. It was pouring the night Barbara left them and moved on to a better place. She had clung on to dear life, hoping against hope that her son, Westley, would appear before her in the last moments of her

life

Barbara kept calling out to him, but he never showed up.

Zoe felt a lump in her throat. She was heartbroken on Barbara’s behalf.

Across the black ornate gate, Westley regarded her and Yanni quietly. He knew they were Mason’s family.

How time had flown by. His little boy was merely ten years old when he left them all those years ago.

In the blink of an eye, however, his little boy had become a father!

Tears started to well up in his eyes. He wanted to take his time and look at his granddaughter. He longed to carry her in his arms, but he -didn’t dare disturb them just like that.

After all, Mason hated him!

Zoe slept on the couch in the middle of the night. Suddenly, thunder crackled over the sky and rain started to pour outside.

Raindrops fell on the window. The pitter-patters it produced were crisp and pleasant to hear. A flash of lightning lit up the dark room.

Zoe jolted awake.

She stayed motionless and felt dizzy for a while before she came to her senses and checked on Yanni immediately. Fortunately, her little girl’s slumber was undisturbed by the sudden change in weather.

At that moment, Mason came back home and went into the bedroom as well. A ray of light shone into the room and humid air rushed into

the room.

Taking off his coat, he went over to Zoe and held her shoulders.
