Pinching her chin, he kissed her deeply. He gulped and said in his deep, sultry voice, “We’re in the underground parking lot and this is my personal spot. No one’s going to pass by here, but we can do it in the company or a hotel room if that’s what you prefer.” 

He might’ve made it sound like it wasn’t a big deal, but his body suggested otherwise. In fact, he couldn’t wait to make her his woman right there and then! 

He even guided her hand to unfasten his belt. At that moment, they weren’t doing it for Yanni. Instead, they did it because they hungered for each other’s bodies and the pleasure it provided.

He merely stared at her intensely in response. Moments later, he said softly, “You don’t usually explain yourself to me! Could it be that you’re starting to have feelings toward me, Zoe? Are you loving me a little again?” 

Her response was swift and to the point. “It’s purely physical! Also, 

we’re doing this for Yanni.” 

His eyes grew darker at that, but he didn’t push her to say anything else. Instead, he regarded her with this tender look. “I’ll send you back to Kirk Manor, then.” 

He was about to start the engine when she gripped his hand all of a sudden. 

She rarely did something like this, much less look at him with this sort of affection. Her voice was husky when she said embarrassingly “Stop being so nice to me, Mason!” 

Fixing his gaze at her, he held her hand after a long time. “You’re starting to feel something for me and it scares you. Is that it?” 

His question was met with silence. 

It’d look so embarrassing and pathetic, no matter how she answered him.

Zoe ordered a lemonade instead of a cup of coffee. 

Concerned about their situation, Ella asked softly, “How are things with you and Mason? I mean the pregnancy…” 

Holding her glass of lemonade, she swirled it gently. After a brief moment, she said, “We can’t rush it! The doctor said I was too worked up over it and wanted me to relax a little.” 

Ella patted her hand, comforting her. 

Then, she changed the subject. “What about you? You’re going back. to Silvercrest soon. Are you going to tie the knot with Farley?” 

Ella halted for a moment before responding to her, “We just might! Farley proposed to me a couple of days ago and I said yes!” 

It was such wonderful news. 

Zoe felt happy for her friend, but it wasn’t because Farley had billions worth of properties under his name, nor was it because Ella could live a wealthy, comfortable life. 

Instead, she was happy for Ella because, after everything that had happened to her, she had finally found a man who respected and loved her. Zoe was certain that Farley would keep Ella safe. 

She said in a hushed voice, “Farley is going to be a good husband.” Ella was about to respond to her when she suddenly fixed her gaze on a couple standing at the entrance. She knew both of them. 

It was Leslie and Nellie. Her tummy was flat, but she deliberately stuck her belly out and held her waist with a hand, giving the impression that she was pregnant. 

Was Nellie pregnant with Leslie’s baby? 

Tears started welling up in Ella’s eyes.
