Chapter 393
Perhaps the emergency at his branch company in Hucksburgh was a really complicated affair.
That didn’t track, though. Mason loved Yanni very much. It was impossible that he’d ignore her texts about their little girl just because things weren’t good at his company.
She thought about giving him a call, but, with the way things were between them now, she didn’t dare to do it.
Perhaps she should wait, she thought!
Mason could just respond to her texts or call her tomorrow itself.
Better yet, he could just take a flight back to Brookesville.
Mason was lying on the bed quietly in the Intensive Care Unit.
The medical team had extracted nearly half of his bone marrow as well as one-third of his blood from his body, giving it all to his little girl.
He sacrificed himself to save Yanni.
The fact was that the cross he had gotten from the Beacon of Hope Church didn’t do anything. What made it work was his sacrifice.
Back then, he kneeled for four hours before the altar and asked Heavens how could he show that he was sincere and genuine to his family. The answer he had gotten was that he should do and give everything he had to them.
However, he didn’t get an answer on how he was supposed to come back from the other side.

Cecil stayed by his side the whole time. His eyes were bloodshot
from lack of sleep, but Mason’s condition remained grim and there was little hope to be found.
At that moment, someone shoved the door open. A nurse’s voice could be heard.
“You can’t just barge in, Ms. Lisa. You’re in the Intensive Care Unit. Um
Dr. Cecil…” She tried, but she couldn’t stop Lisa from coming in.
Lisa stood at the door and gawked at the man lying on the bed. His features and figure looked so much like Mason’s.
How was that possible? How could that be her son?
Mason was
full of life and remained cocky at any given time. How was it possible that he was lying there, motionless?
She must’ve gotten it wrong!
It had to be a mistake!
It was impossible for Mason to be lying there. He’d never do something so dumb. She raised him for Heaven’s sake. She had
never taught him to do this. He wasn’t supposed to sacrifice himself for his daughter!
She couldn’t take it.
Shaking her head slightly, her black hair fell to the side, revealing gray roots hiding in there. At the next moment, she howled miserably at the top of her lungs in the middle of the night.
“Mason!”
Grabbing Cecil’s sleeves, she roared maniacally, “What happened to him? Why isn’t he moving? Give him back to me.
Give me back my son

Cecil tried again and again to repress his feelings before responding to her, “It was his choice! He put Yanni before himself because he loved Zoe and his little girl! I don’t think he regrets his decision one bit.”
Taking a step back, she murmured, “What in the world…? Yeah, sure. He loves Zoe and Yanni, but did he ever pause to think about me?! How am I supposed to live when he’s like this?”
Falling to her knees, her hair fell to the side as she cried her eyes out, Take my blood, Cecil. Take as much as you want and save Mason. All I care about is that I can save him. You can even have all of my blood if that’s what it takes!”
The night grew darker.
A sense of helplessness overwhelmed Cecil.
Westley came to the hospital too. He was stunned when he saw what happened. Only then did he realize that Mason paid him a visit that night to say his farewells. His son gave him the bank card so that he would be set for life.
He might’ve done wrong by Mason all those years ago, but his son still didn’t have the heart to leave him to his own devices. Instead gave him enough money for the rest of his life and neglected to him anything about his grim situation.
His hands were trembling when he touched Mason. He didn’t eve have the courage to ask if his son would wake up someday.
However, Lisa forbade him from touching their son. She strangled Westley and took her pain out on him. “Our son might never wake up again, Westley. I might never hear his voice again…”
She cried her eyes out and smushed his face. Then, she roared at him, “If the universe was looking to punish someone, then it should

be you or me. Mason’s my son… He’s innocent…”
All of a sudden, the monitor flashed a red light and made a beeping
sound.
Mason’s left hand twitched. In his coma, he heard the ruckus and found it somewhat familiar. It was very close to his mother’s cries on that fateful, rainy night. Back then, Lisa had howled miserably. ” Westley…”
Westley…
Westley…
Zoe…
Yanni…
Mason opened his eyes slowly.
Lisa stopped screaming abruptly.
She saw it.
Mason opened his eyes. He had woken up…
