Chapter 426

Mason was stunned momentarily by what he said. Then, his heart

started pounding like crazy.

Zoe was back at last!

She finally moved back to Brookesville with the kids.

Luke realized his master was still stunned by the sight of them. So, he said cheerfully, “You’ve grown much taller now, Yanni. Look at you, Jamie. You can walk on your own now! I must say, you look absolutely handsome, a carbon copy of Mr. Mason.”

Yanni and Jamie were both here, right in front of him…

Excited beyond words, Mason couldn’t resist but say, “That goes without saying. He’s my son!” He couldn’t get out of the car because of his busted legs, but he opened the door so he’d feel closer to them.

Then, he saw Zoe.

She was putting her suitcases into the trunk while Yanni stood next to her. The little girl was six years old now. She was adorable, slim, an tall. Deborah was holding Jamie in her arms. His little boy was w over one year old and, as Luke said, looked just like him.

His eyes turned red. This was the first time he had seen Jamie. O top of that, it had been too long since he last saw Yanni.

He had missed them dearly.

Closing the trunk, she turned around to take Yanni into the car when her eyes met Mason’s gaze.

It was as if time itself froze.

After a brief moment, Zoe took Jamie in her arms and walked over

with Yanni in tow. Mason clenched his fists and waited until she was standing in front of him before saying in a husky voice, “Didn’t you tell me you’re moving back to Brookesville in May? What’s with the delay?”

Then, he stared at Jamie. The little boy was his son.

Yanni leaped into her arms and called out to him in the sweetest voice he had ever heard, “Dad!” His eyes turned red again, but he held back his tears and patted her head affectionately, taking in her

warmth.

After a long time, he said to his little girl gently, “Here. Let me take a good look at your little brother.”

Yanni got off of him at once. She was stronger than her appearance had led on. Taking her little brother from her mom, she carried him and put him in her dad’s arms. Then, she mimicked an adult’s tone, Here. Say ‘Dada.’

Jamie, on the other hand, wasn’t exactly cooperative. They waited quite a while, but he didn’t make any voices, much less call Mason

Dada.”

Growing worried, Mason turned his gaze at Zoe. She knew what w on his mind and said tenderly, “He doesn’t like to talk. He’s rather cold, not exactly the friendly type.”

Luke, who was standing to the side, couldn’t help but make fun of him, “Mr. Mason didn’t talk much when he was young. Instead, he always looked cold and distant! Genetics are truly something to be

reckoned with!”

His words were met with a glare from Mason.

Luke immediately shut up and proceeded to look at Yanni and Jamie. A warm, fuzzy feeling rose in his chest. In the end, he couldn’t help but turn around and wipe away his tears.

Mason ignored him.

At that moment, Yanni said cheerfully, “I missed Sherry so much, Dad. Did you give my puppy away?”

Curiously, she didn’t ask why he couldn’t stand or walk.

She treated Mason in the same way she used to, warmly and lovingly, as if he hadn’t done any wrong by her or parted ways with her for years. Everything was the same before, back when he held her in his arms and read fairy tales to her while she lay on his chest.

It looked like Zoe had done a good job in raising her.

“Don’t worry. I didn’t give Sherry away.

Taking the little girl’s arms, he looked at her lovingly. Then, he raised his eyes and looked at Zoe. “Let’s have a lunch at my place! Yanni misses Sherry dearly.”

Zoe readily agreed to it. Carrying Jamie over, she patted Jamie’s head, and smiled meekly, “Do you want to ride with Daddy? I have to send Deborah back home.”

Yanni was more than willing to oblige.

Hopping into the car, she sat right next to her dad and rested her on his shoulder.

The gesture filled Mason’s heart with warmth.

Turning to look at Zoe, he hesitated a little before saying, “Are we..

Returning his gaze calmly, she said softly, “Didn’t we talked about this? We’ll raise Yanni and Jamie together. Don’t worry though. I won’t bother you anymore.”
