Cecil checked outside the room and closed the door.
Instead of walking over, he merely stood at the door and asked gently, “Are you guys still fighting? It’s been such a long time!”
Then, he chuckled.
He used to love Zoe a lot, but he had given up on her. He stopped after he found out he was Mason’s uncle. He knew he didn’t stand any chance the moment Mason put himself on the operating table. These two were meant for each other for the rest of their lives.
With that said, that didn’t stop him from treating Zoe nicely.
He could tell that she was suffering on the inside. So, he sat on a chair across from her and asked solemnly, “Do you need a listening
ear?”
Shaking her head, she smiled faintly, “I’m not a young brat anymore. can handle my emotions. Don’t worry about me, Cecil. I’m fine. I mean it. It’s wonderful that we can live in the same city now.”
Cecil smiled along with her.
They proceeded to talk more about the laboratory before she left. had just gotten into the car when she received a call from Mason.
“Yanni and Jamie are with me now. We’re going to spend a whole da together.” Then, his voice turned a little husky. “You can pick them u around nine tonight!”

She assumed he was angered by her response because he hung up the call on her. On the other hand, she wasn’t upset at all. Lowering her phone, she brushed her fingers across the warm screen longingly.
It was just as she told Cecil. She was content with living in the same city as Mason. He was just a call away and she could easily keep tabs on his whereabouts.

Instead, she went back home and got changed. Then, she made her way to The One Gourmet’s office building in Brookesville. There were twelve floors and all of them contained offices for her insanely popular chain restaurant.

Zoe watched as she left. Then, she took her car keys and coat before
turning off the lights and leaving.
Taking the elevator to the parking lot on the ground floor, the last thing she expected to see was for someone to wait for her. He stared at her as she exited through the revolving door. At the next moment, his eyes rested on her beautiful and suggestive outfit.
It was none other than Liam.
