Chapter 454 

It was night and Mason was wearing a white bathrobe on the second floor of his manor. Sitting on his couch, he had a blanket on his knees as the private doctor massaged him 

She said, warmly, “Dr. Cecil said that you’re getting some sensation back to your legs. Your right arm seems to be recovering well too! Looks like the newly formed research team is making strides.” 

Did she just mention a newly formed research team? 

Mason didn’t seem to recall investing in it. 

The private doctor knew she had let it slip, but there was nothing else she could do other than tell him the truth. “Ms. Zoe sponsored it. The first donation was already twenty million dollars, much less the subsequent ones. 

“This is how Dr. Cecil put it. If the research team needs to be 

maintained for five years, then it would probably exhaust Ms. Zoe’s entire wealth and properties.” She continued to massage him and said, “Ms. Zoe is doing everything she can to help you, Mr. Ma She’s one heck of a lady.” 

Mason remained quiet at what she said. 

Lowering his head, he looked at the picture on his phone. Liam wa grabbing Zoe’s hand in it. It made the trending search that night itsel but it took him less than two hours to suppress the news. 

He didn’t call her to ask about it, nor did she explain herself to him. 

The fact was, she didn’t have any obligation to do it. They might’ve had sex that night, but he blatantly told her that it was nothing more than a fling. With that in mind, what right did he have to demand an 

explanation from her? 

Be that as it may, he wanted to see her. He missed her… 

Soon enough, Dr. Werner was done with the massage and went out of the room. Mason took the opportunity to give Zoe a call. 

Several seconds later, she answered it and said tenderly, “Is there anything you need, Mason?” 

Leaning back on the couch, he lowered his gaze and said in a husky voice, “I want to hang out with Yanni and Jamie tomorrow. Are you fine with it if I take them to my place?” 

“Sure thing.” 

Holding in his burst of joy, he asked casually, “Should I come over? Or, will you send them to me?” 

Zoe chuckled in response. 

The delight in her voice was unmistakable. It caressed his heart like a gentle breeze. His fingers, which were holding the phone, started shaking lightly. 

He waited for her answer patiently. Then, she said, “That’s not a problem. I need to talk to you about Yanni’s future school anyway bring them over, then!” 

He let out a sigh of relief. 

Zoe still hadn’t hung up after a brief moment. He couldn’t resist asking her, “Are you no longer mad about what happened last time? 

“Yeah,” she responded briefly. 

The way he saw it, both of them made a compromise and agreed to patch things up. Mason was cautiously optimistic about it. He thought she was still together with David. So, he also liked the mixed feelings of love and jealousy, enriched by the immorality of the 

situation. 

He didn’t get a good sleep that night 

Lying on their marital bed, he threw his mind back to the countless times they’d slept together on it. Closing his eyes, he saw in his mind the moment when Zoe’s sleepwear slipped all the way down to her waist. She took charge by sitting on his hips in the guest room. 

Needless to say, it didn’t feel as good as in the past, but they hadn’t done it for a long, long time. So, the pleasure they felt was so intense that it felt sharp, making it some of the best sex they had ever had. 

The next day, Zoe came to his place with both of their kids. 

Mia didn’t come with them this time! 

Mason was standing right next to her car when she parked it. The car door swung open and out came Yanni, racing toward him and calling out jovially, “Daddy!” before hugging him and planting numerous kisses on his cheeks. 

Zoe carried Jamie out of the car. 

The little girl took her baby brother from her mom and gave hir Mason as if she were presenting some precious treasure. Starin Jamie, Yanni said warmly, “Jamie’s so adorable! Grandma said it w easy to look after him. It’s just that he sneezes a lot.” 

Then, Mason patted his son affectionately. 

Jamie had this refined look. He was a carbon copy of his dad and mirrored his cold demeanor as well.
