Chapter 472
As luck would have it, Zoe sensed his stare and looked at him. She wasn’t exactly perturbed, but she did stand a little straighter when she
saw him.
The man in front of her looked at Mason too.
Mason’s eyes grew darker. He ordered Ava, “Take me to her!”
Ava wheeled him and stopped when they were one step away from Zoe. Naturally, she greeted her with enthusiasm. “It’s been a long time, Zoe!”
Zoe rested her gaze on Mason and smiled faintly, “Indeed!”
The man asked her, “Who’s this fine man, Ms. Zoe?”
She had nothing to hide. “This is Mason! He’s the director of Lockwood Corporation and my ex-husband. This lady here is Ava.
She’s Mason’s assistant, and a very capable one at that.”
The way she introduced them was very formal.
The man in front of her was Saül. He had just come back from
overseas and was interested in making a huge investment. She was trying to get him to invest in The One Gourmet. Little did she know she’d run into Mason here.
Saül was a polite man.
Bowing slightly, he extended his arm and shook Mason’s hand. Then, he presented his business card and said, “Greetings, I’m Saül Dupont.”
Smiling, Mason greeted him back. “As she said, I’m Mason
Lockwood.” At the next moment, he looked at Zoe and continued, “I’ll get out of your hair then! Wait a minute. The school teacher sent me

a text. She said Yanni only got an A minus for the math test this week.
“If you’re too busy with your social functions, you should send her to my place for a few days. I can brush up on her math.”
It was obviously he was being petty and saying it on purpose.
At first, Saül did want to tackle Zoe. She was young, beautiful, and had a successful business. He, too, went through a divorce, but he didn’t have any kids with his ex-wife. Zoe was just the perfect lady for
him.
Now, however, he wasn’t too comfortable with the idea..
Then, Mason left and Zoe apologized to Saül. He took the opportunity and asked her out for dinner, but she rejected him.
The fact was that Saül had some history with Mason. He was
Ramona’s cousin and she used to try to hit on Mason.
After she bid him farewell, she went to her car. To her surprise, she
couldn’t start the engine. The next thing she knew, she saw
snowflakes dancing outside her car window.
It was snowing!
Sitting in her car, she reached out, touched the glass, and admired as
the snowflake flew off from where her hands were.
Out of nowhere, her face lit up and she intended to take a stroll in the
snow.
She had been under constant pressure for many years now. It was about time she put her hair down and enjoyed the moment. This time, she wasn’t doing it for others. This moment was for herself.
Getting out of the car, she bought a bouquet of roses for herself and walked in the snow with it. A moment later, her mind traveled back to the painful past.

However, she no longer felt shackled and suffocated by it.
She had decided she’d let the past stay in the past.
Unbeknownst to her, she was absolutely charming and mesmerizing, just walking on the street. Numerous guys turned their heads and threw glances her way.
Mason was sitting in a black limousine, watching her quietly. She looked so carefree and joyful that he didn’t disturb her. He merely asked Luke to follow her and drive slowly.
He hadn’t seen her like this in a long time!
She was both beautiful and warm right now. Every time she smiled faintly, his lips would also curl into a smile and his heart would pound like crazy.
The snowfall intensified, blanketing the ground with a thin layer of
snow.
Then, he ordered Luke, “Pull over and tell Zoe we’re giving her a ride.”
Luke spoke loudly, “What did you say, Mr. Mason?”
Mason was so pissed off that he ignored him. He waited until h inched closer to her and lowered the car window. Looking at her quietly, he said affectionately, “The snowfall’s getting heavy. Hop i
