Chapter 498
Lisa knew that Zoe would never forgive her for the rest of her life.
With that said, she knew that Zoe was merciful enough towards her for not sending her to prison. Perhaps it was because they used to have some sort of connection in her teenage years.
It was the middle of the night and Lisa cried her lungs out in the black
limousine.
Mason was standing on the steps and looking at her car in silence. He could just guess that his mother was crying or weeping in there. However, he didn’t go over and try to soothe her.
Instead, he walked back into his manor.
Everyone had their own emotional baggage, but no one else could’ve helped her with it. She’d have to deal with it on her own terms.
It was the second day of the New Year. Mason decided he’d visit Westley because it seemed like his father was suffering from some
health issues.
He parked his car in front of the apartment, but he didn’t go upstairs. with his gifts before he finished smoking a cigarette.
He had bought the apartment for Westley. It was in a considerably strategic location and was about a thousand and three hundred square feet.
Knocking on the door, he fully expected Westley to open it. To his surprise, however, it was someone else he knew instead.
“Is that you, Aunt Lila?”

Lila was Lisa’s twin sister.
She was wearing an apron and looked exactly like a loving wife. She, too, was surprised to see him, but she came back to her senses and said with a smile, “Is that you, Mason?”
Raising her voice, she said, “Mason’s here, Westley!”
She warmly welcomed him inside and brought him a pair of indoor slippers. Being an observant man, he noticed that his aunt was wearing a pair of ladies’ sandals. They looked new and was probably bought only recently.
He stared at her profoundly and said, “Thank you, Aunt Lila!”
She met his gaze and was reminded of how much his eyes resembled Westley’s. She couldn’t help but be stunned. Then, she smiled and said, “We’re family, Mason! There’s no need to stand on formalities! I made some homemade pizza. You’ll join us for lunch, won’t you?”
He couldn’t exactly turn her down.
That was when Westley came out of his bedroom, dressed sharply. He was stunned for a long time when he saw Mason. Then, he explained himself, “I haven’t been feeling too well lately. Lila heard about it and came here to visit.”
Lila was much calmer compared to him.
Then, she headed into the kitchen and started preparing lunch. She carried herself as if she were the mistress of the place and said naturally, “I wouldn’t have to be worried about you if you and Lisa had gotten back together! You’re a man, Westley. You need a woman in your life!”
‘I don’t even know where to begin,’ Westley thought to himself.
Then, Mason spoke, “You’re right, Aunt Lila! It’s my bad! Well, we do

have an extra room here. I’m going to send one of my servants here to look after Dad when I get back.”
Westley responded, “That’s putting too much trouble on you, Mason.”
Lila’s back was turned to the door of the kitchen, looking all stressed
out.
The fact was that Mason had bought the place for his dad. To top it off, he was Westley’s son. So, he was perfectly at home here.
He unbuttoned a couple of buttons of his shirt, sat on the couch, and turned on the television. ‘Animal Planet’ was on and the narrator’s voice was crisp and loud. “Now that spring has dawned on us. It was time for the animals to mate and procreate again…”
Lighting up a cigarette, he took a drag and smiled dryly. “This is a great show. I’ve been watching it since I was young. I’ve got to show
it to Jamie too.”
However, Westley was a refined and cultured man. He wasn’t exactly
omfortable with this part of the show. He wanted to explain the
situation, but Lila was there. After all, he needed to take care of her pride. So, ouldn’t find an opening to talk to his son about it.

son pulled out his phone and proceeded to take care of some ork without saying anything.
Westley sent Lila downstairs to see her off.
Just as she got into her car, Westley, who had always lived honestly,
hesitated for a good while before deciding he should say it out loud, You shouldn’t come here anymore, Lila! I know we didn’t exactly do anything, but it simply isn’t appropriate for my son to see you in my place.”
