Chapter 510
Zoe had belonged to Mason the whole time. Gregory was the only fool who had willingly been the invisible outsider, not even worthy of being the third wheel.
At the next moment, his phone rang.
He ignored it, but it kept ringing. It seemed the caller wasn’t about to give up anytime soon. In the end, he leaned over and picked up his phone from the glove compartment and checked it.
It was his fiancée.
Her voice was silky when she spoke. “I want to refit my wedding dress tomorrow, Gregory. Will you go with me?”
Leaning back on his seat, he wore a blank expression. The fact was that he knew his fiancée loved him, but they were only marrying each other for business purposes. Why did she have to treat it so seriously?!
With that said, he wasn’t about to embarrass her.
His voice was husky when he said, “Sure! Let my assistant know about the details! I’ll go with you tomorrow.”
His fiancée was delighted to hear it. She proceeded to discuss some of the wedding ceremony details with him while he listened to her patiently.
However, his heart wasn’t in it at all. At the end of the day, it was just
business.
Mason parked his black Bentley at Ella’s apartment.

Just as Zoe opened the car door, he leaned over and looked at her. Resting his hands on the steering wheel, he admired the beautiful sight that was his ex-wife.
He asked, “Are you sure we’re not seeing each other tonight?”
“That’s what I want,” she responded. Then, a loud thud could be heard as she slammed the door.
Her cold response had done nothing but intrigue him.
Here’s the thing about winning a lady’s heart. Sometimes, it’s all about getting that sense of fulfillment. If the pursuit was too easy, then it wouldn’t have been much fun. Now, Mason was a man with ordinary desires. He couldn’t and wouldn’t deny that he had some kinks, especially when it came to sex.
Zoe went upstairs.
Ella’s apartment was built in a strategic location. It was wide too, about two thousand and eight hundred square feet. It was more than enough to hous both Ella and her stepdaughter, Tabitha.

That made Ella feel a little ashamed of herself. Lowering her head, she drank the cup of coffee that she didn’t like. She didn’t speak again until she had finished about half of it. “I used to hate this brand of coffee, Zoe! If I finished it, it was only because it was an expensive brand and I didn’t want to let it go to waste.
“Now, however, I’m drinking it because it’s Farley’s favorite brand. He’d make a cup for himself if he had some free time on his hands. He told me that this is his hobby. What he didn’t tell me was that he loved having a cup of coffee with his friends, but he rarely did it after we got married. He was looking out for me and kept me company whenever he could.
“That’s why I love making a cup of coffee if I find the time, Zoe. The aroma reminds me of him!
“I think you know this, Zoe. Once you love someone, it’s hard to accept another man into your heart. It’s true. I used to think Leslie was the man who made the deepest impression on me. Now, however, I think keeping your loved one’s company was the most romantic thing we could ever do!
“Farley stayed by my side in the past. Now, it’s my turn to stay by his and his daughter’s side.”
Ella spoke from the bottom of her heart. There were tears in her eyes.
Even Zoe was moved by her little speech. After that, she didn’t bring up Leslie again, even though she knew the man had a place in the deepest corner of her friend’s heart..
Ella had both hated and loved him!
Then, she asked her about Tabitha, which brought a smile to Ella’s face. “She’s every bit as wonderful as Farley was! I’m going to send
