Remarrying into Wealth By Bennett Snider Chapter 30

Chapter 30

Sherry hesitated briefly before regaining her confidence. “He has no objections.”

Naturally, he wouldn’t object, right? Malcolm now has a loving wife who is also

expecting his child. He is probably unaware that she has found a job.

Of course, he wouldn’t have any objections.

Noah felt relieved and delighted for her. “You have always been your uncle’s pride.

When

you were in school, your awards covered the walls at home. Even when

you

started working, you always brought money home to support the family. Sherry, don’t

overwork yourself. Take care of yourself.”

“I know, Uncle. I drink a cup of tea from my thermos every morning to stay healthy.”

“Hahaha, that’s great.”

After a while, Sherry asked about her father, whom she had never met.

Noah didn’t know much either, he only had vague idea. “All I know is that his surname

uncle and I didn’t approve of him being with your mother at first, but they were deeply in

love, so we didn’t oppose it. Later, when your mother became pregnant with you, your

uncle and I went to find him and asked when he would marry your mother. But when we

arrived, we found out that he had already been sent abroad for further studies half a

month ago.”

Noah reflected on the events of over two decades ago, feeling a little gloomy and bitter.

“At the time, university students were highly valued, especially those sent abroad.

Whether he stayed abroad or returned home, his future should have been bright.”

“Surname Wilson, were you sent abroad for further studies?”

Sherry used a towel to dry his hair. “Yes, that’s what my uncle said.”

Mr. Sniper closed his eyes, content with her attention. “Sherry, do you really want to find

him?”

Sherry was perplexed. “He abandoned me and my mother, but the opportunity to study abroad is also valuableso I understand. Howeverfinding him feels like betraying my

mother.”

Mr. Sniper understood her completely. “Sherry, let me tell you the truth: if you want to

find him, no problem. But do you know how many people with the surname Wilson

there are in the country? The chances of finding him are very slim.”

3/11

Sherry gave a firm shake of her head. “No, my mother loved him so much that when she

was dying, she clutched the ivory comb he gave her, and she was already pregnant with

me.”

“Exactly, Sherry,” Mr. Sniper said as he sat alongside her, holding her hand and gently

explaining. “He knew your mother was already pregnant and would wait for him, so why

did he leave without saying anything and cut off all contact with your mother? There’s

only one explanation: he had a deep–down reason to abandon both of you.”

“What could be the reason?”

Sniper chuckled. “What was Malcolm’s reason for divorcing you? Was it really because

you couldn’t conceive?”

Chapter 30 What if I Allow You To Marry Me?

No, it wasn’t.

It was because Malcolm had already developed feelings for Sophia.

Sophia had convinced the doctor to fabricate her infertility certificate, so her infertility

was a lie. It was all a setup! It was finally revealed that they had been secretly involved

with each other for a long time!

“You understand, Sherry,” the sharpshooter said. “If a man abandons his woman for no

reason other than falling in love with another.”

Sherry chewed her lower lip, unable to speak.

She had considered that, but when Sniper dissected it for her, it felt like the most

reluctantly accepted outcome, filling her heart with oppression and bitterness.

“Oh, by the way, let’s dig deeper,” Sniper said, gently rubbing his stubble against her

cheek. “At the time, he was a poor student. Was it really because of his excellent

academic performance that he was sent abroad, or was it related to him abandoning

your mother?”

Chapter 30 What if I Allow You To Marry Me?

Sherry looked up.

Mr. Sniper’s comments were not fully explained, but she understood.

5/11

A poor student receiving financial assistance from a wealthy girl, leaving his pregnant

wife, and traveling abroad with the affluent female?

It’s a cliché plot, for sure.

“So, Sherry, do you still want to find him now?”

Sherry became perplexed. “Let me think about it again, okay?”

“Sure,” the sniper said, searching for her lips and gently kissing her. “Take your time to

think, and whatever you decide, I’ll support you.”

Sherry was startled by his kiss and felt a little dizzy. She took a deep breath and

narrowed her eyes. “What if I agree to let you marry me?”

The kiss on her lips paused for a moment, and the small area of skin he had kissed

began to feel cold.

Sherry’s heart started to slow down.

6/11

She wished she could slap herself. How could she have asked such a foolish question?

“Sherry.”

“I’m sorry,” Sherry said, lowering her head as if she had done something wrong. “I was

being greedy and didn’t recognize my own worth. I won’t do it again.”

A torrent of passionate kisses rained down on her, landing on her lips and neck.

Mr. Sniper pushed her down onto the bed, his heavy breaths in her ear revealing his

desperation.

“I never imagined you would ask me to marry you one day, Sherry.”

I was just… Sherry couldn’t think of anything to say. “I’m going to take it back, okay?”

Words spoken cannot be taken back, Mr. Sniper stated. “Sherry, please wait a little

longer. Once I have everything sorted out, we will get married.”

Sherry looked at him, stunned.

Did she understand correctly?

Mr. Sniper truly wants to marry her?

But..

“I was just asking casually…”

7/11

“But I took it seriously, Sherry, and I’m overjoyed. You have no idea how long I’ve been

waiting to hear those words.

Sherry’s palm covered his chest, and his heart beat fast and enthusiastically in his

chest, reflecting his owner’s joy.

Sherry was perplexed. “But… don’t you still love the girl from before in your heart?”

The sniper chuckled softly. “Wait until I have everything sorted out and remove the

mask. Then you will realize who she is.”

Ring ring ring-

An urgent phone call interrupted their conversation.

Sherry’s phone rang.

As if escaping, she broke free from Sniper’s embrace and went to the balcony to

answer the call.

It was an unfamiliar number.

“Hello? May I ask who is calling?”

“Heh!”

A gentle snort came from a male voice, but she couldn’t determine who it was.

“May ask who is calling?” she inquired once again.

“Tsk, Sherry,” the man on the other end of the phone finally said, “it has only been a few

days, and you can’t even recognize your boss’s voice?”

Boss?

This is Mateo!

“Oh, Mr. Mateo, it’s you. Why are you calling me at this hour?”

Sherry recalled that the upcoming car show was still four days away.

And Mateo, being such a busy man, had the audacity to call a small makeup artist like

her?

Mateo’s voice carried a hint of mockery. “What? Did I interrupt you or your boyfriend?”

“I don’t have a boyfriend.”

She only had one ex–husband.

Really?” Mateo’s voice held a slight tinge of anticipation.

“Is there any company policy?” Sherry inquired.

While researching Maverick, she came across a news article stating that celebrities

under Morgan Entertainment were prohibited from dating.

10/11

But isn’t the purpose of celebrities not dating to attract fans? What restrictions could a

makeup artist have?

Mateo chuckled softly, seemingly satisfied, and replied, “That’s not it. I’m just

concerned that as a makeup artist, you might become too involved in a relationship

and neglect your profession.”

“No, I won’t. Please rest assured, Mr. Mateo. I will prepare alternative makeup options

for the car show in four days and strive to meet your expectations.”

“That’s good to hear.”

Sherry still found it peculiar. “Mr. Mateo, did you call me so late just to ask if I have a

boyfriend?

Chapter 30 What I Allow You To Marry Me

“Ahem,” Mateo cleared his throat, “as your boss, it’s only natural for me to have a

thorough understanding of new employees. May I ask you a question?”

“No, that’s not what I meant.”

“I have a private event tomorrow, Mateo explained. “Will you be doing my makeup?”

11/11

“Tomorrow? I’m afraid I can’t…” Sherry paused, as she had previously agreed to deliver

food to her uncle the next day.

Mateo found her weak spot: “100,000 for a day.” “Will you come or not?”

Chapter 1 Fallopian Tube Obstruction “What did I say? It’s your problem that you can’t conceive! Now that the test results are out, let’s see what you have to say!” Sherry Wilson’s grip on the test report wavered. When she saw the words “Blocked Fallopian Tubes” inscribed on it, she felt a chill from head to toe. After four years of marriage to Malcolm Ford, she still couldn’t get pregnant. Her mother-in-law pointed at her, with a furious look, implying that she was about to devour her. People passing by glanced at her as if she were a joke, pointing and gossiping, adding to the chaos. Malcolm was the only son of the Ford family, and she understood her mother-in-law’s desire for a grandson. So she had silently endured it all this time. “Mom,” Sherry said patiently, “let’s go home and talk.” “That’s my home, not yours. Get it straight! I have never recognized you as a member of the Ford family. You’re not worthy!” Her mother-in-law’s words were venomous. Sherry closed her eyes, feeling helpless. “We are legally married, and we have a marriage certificate.” “I’m telling you, Sherry, divorce Malcolm immediately! You won’t get a penny of the Ford family’s wealth!” As more people gathered around her, the sweltering weather and their piercing stares made her feel even more humiliated. Sherry took a deep breath, feeling helpless and hopeless.
