Sherry had no valid reason to refuse.

Makeup for thirty or forty vehicle models costs $20,000 per day, but makeup for Mateo
costs $100,000 per day.
Furthermore, men’s cosmetics were far superior to women’s.
“Are you coming or not? Say something, Mateo pressed her.
Sherry clenched her teeth. “I’m coming!”
“Heh,” Mateo said carelessly. “Alright, then, send me your address, and I’ll come get your
tomorrow.”
Sherry was surprised and quickly declined. “There’s no need, Mr. Mateo; just tell me the
address and I’ll take the bus there; don’t bother yourself.”
“You can’t get in there,” Mateo stated flatly. “Do you want me to wait for you at the
entrance?”

Sherry pondered for a bit before agreeing.
“I’m currently staying at the Hilton Hotel.”
“What about WhatsApp?” “Add me and send me your location.”
Sherry, helpless, followed his demands and handed him her WhatsApp ID.
His friend request appeared immediately after he hung up the phone.

Sherry added him, changed his nickname, and then blocked him, so he couldn’t see her
updates.
Mateo was her supervisor, but only for a short time. He might become a stranger after
the seven vehicle exhibitions. She wasn’t used to letting outsiders into her life.
Sniper’s excitement for her was much stronger tonight. While she was on WhatsApp,
he grabbed her from behind and threw her onto the bed, initiating a wild night.
Mateo stated that he would arrive at ten a.m

Sherry got up early and walked downstairs to wait, avoiding making the boss wait.

Mateo had previously complained about her appearance, stating she was too shabby.
She purposefully changed into the white pleated skirt in her closet today. She wore it
with a plain white T–shirt and white sneakers. Her hair was put into a high ponytail and
swayed with her motions, full of life.
She went downstairs at nine o’clock in the morning. There was already a bright yellow
Lamborghini parked near the door, which was quite noticeable.
Mateo wore a studded leather jacket and black jeans today, likewise in a punk style. He
was tall and had long legs, but he exuded a cold and aloof atmosphere. This
out–of–the–ordinary attire seemed to suit him somehow.
But Mateo didn’t seem to notice her. He was still staring towards the entrance to the
Hilton Hotel.
“Good morning, Mr. Mateo. Why did you come so early?” Sherry said softly as she
approached him.

Mateo appeared taken aback by the innocent beauty beside him. He removed his
sunglasses and got a close look at her. “You are Sherry?”
Sherry gave a sheepish smile. “Yes, Mr. Mateo. You said last time that if a makeup artist
can’t even take care of themselves, they can’t be trusted. I thought about it, and you’re
right. Besides, I’m going with you today, so I can’t dress too sloppily and embarrass you.
Is it okay?”
When you work for someone else’s money, you must follow their directions.
Furthermore, because the commission was relatively generous, Sherry felt a sense of
obligation as a good employee.
Mateo, on the other hand, had a puzzled look on his face. He was astonished, but with
a glint of desire in his eyes.
He responded sarcastically, “It’s passable. Why are you wearing all white? I’m not taking
you to a funeral.”
Sherry decided not to argue with him. “I don’t have any clothes in other colors.”

Mateo interpreted her use of the word “color” to mean she didn’t have any other
garments to wear and that this outfit was the only one she could show off.
“First, get in the car,” Mateo said, opening the passenger door for her.
It was her first encounter with this type of vehicle. The door opened upward rather than
outward.
Sherry thanked him quietly and sat down cautiously, bending her waist.
She sat down and discovered that this sports car only had two seats and a thick white
woolen blanket on the floor.
She paused for a bit before pulling a tissue from her bag and placing it beneath her feet
before stepping on it.
Mateo had already taken the wheel and grimaced when he noticed her actions. “What
exactly are you doing?”
Sherry apologized, “I’m afraid of dirtying the blanket for you.”

Mateo looked at her and said, “Tsk.” “The blanket is meant to be stepped on; if it
becomes dirty, simply change it; you’re embarrassing me! Throw away the tissue.”

Sherry wanted to say something else, but Mateo’s dominating demeanor was too much
for her, and she couldn’t.
She retrieved the crumpled tissue from under her feet and held it in her hand, intending
to dispose of it when she came across a trash can.
Mateo seemed to notice and drove the car fifty meters before stopping next to a trash
can. “Hurry up and throw it away; women are so annoying.”
Sherry sat up straight and immediately tossed the crumpled tissue into the trash can.

The engine roared to life, and the brilliant yellow Lamborghini surged forward and drove
away.
Sherry’s face flushed with fear. She wanted to hold onto something, but this car was

unlike any she had previously traveled in. It was a convertible with no handles to cling
onto.
Mateo added proudly, “I personally designed the appearance of this car. It’s not
mass–produced, so there’s only one in the world. Unique.”
Sherry simply nodded. She didn’t care about these things. What she was concerned
about was…
“Mr. Mateo, excessive speeding will result in a fine.”
Mateo’s smile vanished abruptly, and he remarked coldly, “Country bumpkin.”

However, the speed did slow down.
“Sherry, do you live in a hotel?” Mateo drove with one hand and casually rested the
other on the car window, asking, “Alone or with someone?”
Sherry gave a soft smile. “With the help of a friend.”
A friend? Male or female?”

Sherry’s smile stiffened. “No, he pays me and I help him with laundry, cooking, and
cleaning.”
Mateo exhaled a breath of relief. “So you’re also working as a maid?”
“…sort of.”

Apart from sleeping with Mr. Sniper, her job similar to that of a maid.
“Are you in need of money?” Mateo asked openly.
Sherry nodded sincerely. “Yes, I am; my uncle is seriously ill and requires a large sum of
money.”
It’s no surprise.
Mateo finally understood. Sherry didn’t have enough money to buy new clothes. She
was not just a makeup artist, but she also worked as a maid, most likely to supplement
her uncle’s medical expenses.

His heart unexpectedly warmed. “You’ve had it tough.”
Sherry smiled but remained silent.

“Have you ever thought about finding a partner?” Mateo inquired, glancing at her
reflection in the rearview mirror. “It can be quite demanding for a woman like yourself to
bear such a weighty responsibility.”
