Remarrying into Wealth By Bennett Snider Chapter 36

Chapter 36

Sherry felt fortunate when it was time to pay the fees.

Fortunately, she hadn’t returned the five million dollars that Mr. Sniper had given her;

otherwise, she would be in big trouble.

Should she accept Malcolm’s offer of help?

Money is often seen as the root of all evil.

But everyone on this planet adores it.

Malcolm and Sophia were nowhere to be found when she returned after paying the

fees.

It would be best if they left so her uncle wouldn’t become enraged when he woke up.

Her uncle was rushed to the intensive care unit two hours later.

Her uncle’s body was covered in tubes and numerous pieces of equipmenttightly

She had been here before, and the staff knew who she was

They gently encouraged

her, “You should also take care of yourself. Your uncle is out of danger now. He will be

observed in the ICU for a few days, and if everything is fine, he can be transferred to a

regular ward.”

“Thank you,” Sherry said with a forced smile that wouldn’t last long.

Her phone rang, breaking the silence of the hospital.

Sherry hurried to the stairway to answer the call, “Hello?”

Mateo’s familiar voice said, “Sherry, how dare you stand me up?”

Sherry groaned and apologized, saying, “I’m sorry, Mateo. Something unexpected

happened with my uncle.”

Mateo grew concerned when he heard something unusual in her tone. “Is your uncle…

alright? Do you have enough money?” “You foolish girl, I transferred five million to you;

Chapter 361 Am Your Man

why did you transfer it back? I’ll send it to you right now.”

money, and I didn’t do much work today, so I can’t take your money.”

Mateo was becoming impatient. “Can you please stop calling me ‘Mr. all the time? It

sounds awkward, and it makes me feel twenty years older.”

“I’m truly sorry…”

“Don’t apologize, either. I’ve only known you for a few days, and all I hear from you is

apologies,” Mateo replied. “Take care of your uncle, and if you need anything, please call

me anytime.”

Sherry replied briefly before hanging up the phone.

Maverick’s words to her on the drive back today rang an alarm bell in her head.

Whether Maverick was Mr. Sniper or not, she needed to keep her distance from Mateo.

Chapter 361 Am Your Man

She wasn’t a naive or inexperienced young lady. Mateo’s attitude towards her had

clearly changed, and she could sense it.

Now that she was using Mr. Sniper’s money, she saw him in a new light. Whether or not

Mateo had any feelings for hershe needed to put out this fire while it was still young.

Sherry spent three days and three nights outside the ICU before learning that her uncle

could be transferred to a regular ward for treatment.

She and the nurses moved her uncle back. Sherry’s vision blurred as she sank to the

ground.

Sherry felt like she was wandering in a scorching desert, with no direction and no end

in sight, just walking, walking, walking…

“Water…”

Water was gently poured into her lips, cooling and rejuvenating her.

She drank excessively, and the cold sensation in her throat eventually woke her up.

She opened her eyes to find herself in a hotel with a foreign–style retro design and

furniture, rather than the hospital’s spotless white.

This is the Hilton Hotel, right?

I awake?” Mr.

“Are asked, placing his palm on her forehead. “Good, the fever

has gone down.”

Sherry’s body felt heavy as she tried to move. “Wasn’t I just in the hospital? How did I

come back?”

Mr. Sniper helped her sit up by leaning against his chest. “You didn’t even know you

were sick? You didn’t call me for help?” he said as he cleaned her face and hands with a

cold cloth.

Sherry frowned and bit her lower lip, saying nothing.

During those three helpless nights, she had considered asking Mr. Sniper for help.

But if he went to the hospital, he wouldn’t be able to wear a mask and would

undoubtedly come into contact with her.

‘You said you had unfinished business, and I didn’t want to interfere with your plans.”

Mr. Sniper softly tapped her on the shoulder. What plan could be more important than

you?”

“Sherry, you’re not alone anymore. If you’re scared, just say so. If you need help and

company, come to me proactively. It’s not embarrassing to be helpless. I am your man;

why do you always want to bear everything on your own?”

His words startled Sherry, making her heart skip a beat.

“I can handle it; I’ve survived all these

years, and it won’t be any different in the future.”

Mr. Sniper chuckled and shook his head. “You’re so stubborn.”

Sherry felt a little better after resting in his warm and comforting embrace.

Even though the room was still dark, she could hear his breathing in her ears. She

imagined herself as a little boat floating in the waves, eventually reaching a safe harbor.

“My uncle…”

“He’s doing well; I’ve arranged for four caregivers to keep an eye on him; Sophia will not

be allowed to see him again.”

Sherry’s body tensed. “You know?”

“Anything related to you, I know. Sophia’s mother is about to return, along with her

allegedly powerful stepfather; they should be here to discuss Sophia and Malcolm’s

marriage.”

Sherry nodded, unsurprised.

Sherry, after all, still had a mother. Without even a ceremony or a marriage certificate,

the wedding couldn’t be as straightforward as it was back then. Malcolm had taken her

to the Civil Affairs Bureau to have a lawyer address the situation.

Do you want.revenge, Sherry?” Mr. Sniper asked. “Sophia is plotting to marry into the

Ford family as the young mistress, and I can make sure she doesn’t get what she

wants.

Sherry paused for a moment before shaking her head.

“They suit each other well; keep them together so they don’t go their separate ways and

harm others.

Mr. Shiper let out a soft chuckle and continued, “Your logic is quite interesting.”

“Is it wrong?”

“No,” he said, kissing her on the cheek, “everything you say is correct.”

Sherry blushed at his comment. “In any case, I’m very grateful to have you.”

“If you’re feeling guilty, could you please recover quickly and have a child with me,

hmm?”

Mr. Sniper’s desires were always strong, but Sherry was currently ill, so he wouldn’t take

advantage of her.

Sherry bit her lower lip. “Then should I sleep in the guest room tonight?”

“No.”

“But two people sleeping together…” She was concerned that he would be

uncomfortable.

But Mr. Sniper had a different viewpoint. “So, Mateo is the one who offered you that

lucrative job, Sherry?“–

Sherry didn’t try to conceal it. “Yes, I work as a makeup artist for the car models at the

auto show. At first, Mr. Mateo wasn’t happy, but the results were impressive after the

first show, and he recognized my talent.”

“Hmph,” Mr. Sniper muttered, “does this Mateo really have the nerve to be interested in

my partner?”

Chapter 1 Fallopian Tube Obstruction “What did I say? It’s your problem that you can’t conceive! Now that the test results are out, let’s see what you have to say!” Sherry Wilson’s grip on the test report wavered. When she saw the words “Blocked Fallopian Tubes” inscribed on it, she felt a chill from head to toe. After four years of marriage to Malcolm Ford, she still couldn’t get pregnant. Her mother-in-law pointed at her, with a furious look, implying that she was about to devour her. People passing by glanced at her as if she were a joke, pointing and gossiping, adding to the chaos. Malcolm was the only son of the Ford family, and she understood her mother-in-law’s desire for a grandson. So she had silently endured it all this time. “Mom,” Sherry said patiently, “let’s go home and talk.” “That’s my home, not yours. Get it straight! I have never recognized you as a member of the Ford family. You’re not worthy!” Her mother-in-law’s words were venomous. Sherry closed her eyes, feeling helpless. “We are legally married, and we have a marriage certificate.” “I’m telling you, Sherry, divorce Malcolm immediately! You won’t get a penny of the Ford family’s wealth!” As more people gathered around her, the sweltering weather and their piercing stares made her feel even more humiliated. Sherry took a deep breath, feeling helpless and hopeless.
