Remarrying into Wealth By Bennett Snider Chapter 38

Chapter 38

Sherry was uncertain about what she meant.

Camila nervously tapped her foot. “Didn’t you faint at the hospital when you were with

your uncle? Who brought you back?”

Sherry’s eyes lit up. “It was Mr. Sniper!” the narrator exclaimed.

Camila proudly exclaimed, “That’s correct!” “He couldn’t wear a mask to the hospital,

right? If we can access the hospital surveillance footage, we can identify who took you

away, and then the truth will be revealed!”

Camila was perceptive and had already obtained the security tape.

Sherry hesitated, but Camila had already guided her to a seat beside her. “Let’s watch it

first.”

They opened their email and clicked on a video link, and the thumbnail showed the

entrance of the Provincial Erewhon Hospital.

Chapter 38 Confirmation Of Identity

Camila enlarged the video and pressed the play button.

The security video wasn’t of the highest quality, but they could roughly see the

individuals entering and exiting the facility.

Even at night, the area in front of the hospital was always bustling. The hurried figures

of pedestrians continuously entered and exited the hospital, illuminated by the bright

lights in front of it.

A familiar figure appeared on the surveillance camera.

He stepped out of a dark sedan and hurried towards the hospital.

“This is…”

Camila leaned in closer and slapped her thigh. “Damn, isn’t this Maverick? Is it really

him? What the hell?!”

Sherry felt a bit nervous. She clenched her teeth and peered at the screen of her phone,

not missing any details.

Chapter 38 Confirmation Of Identity

Maverick’s image reappeared in the CCTV camera about ten minutes later.

He carried a woman in his arms as he left the hospital and placed her in the passenger

seat of a car before driving away.

Due to the dim lighting, they couldn’t see the woman’s face clearly.

However, Sherry immediately recognized her. It was herself.

She was wearing the same white T–shirt and pleated skirt she had on when she left

Mateo’s house. Maverick had escorted her to the hospital door, and she had stayed by

her uncle’s side without changing her clothes during that time.

Camila exclaimed, “Sherry, I believe the woman he was carrying resembles you.”

Sherry’s heart shattered.

So Mr. Sniper was truly Maverick.

Sherry gave a firm response. “It’s me.”

Chapter 38 Confirmation Of Identity

Camila nodded and watched the surveillance video repeatedly. “Then there’s no

mistake. Sherry, as you mentioned, Mr. Sniper may have reasons for denying he’s

Maverick.

“I don’t know,” Sherry said, puzzled, “but he must have his reasons.”

“Is it because he’s gay?”

Sherry was the only one who could provide insight into the situation.

Mr. Sniper had repeatedly expressed his desire for her to bear his child, and his

infatuation with her body was genuine.

He was completely honest.

Camila tilted her head and had an epiphany: “Could it be that he doesn’t want his

ex–girlfriend to know he’s with you?”

So far, this was the only plausible explanation.

Chapter 35 Confirmation Of Identity

Camila comforted Sherry by hugging her shoulder and saying, “Sherry, don’t be afraid.

So what if he is Maverick? Let me tell you, my gossip network is quite effective. I’ll find

out about Maverick’s past relationships, and the truth will come to light.”

“Camila, thank you,” Sherry said, forcing a smile, “but I don’t really want to know who

that girl is.”

As long as she didn’t know, she could deceive herself into thinking that no matter who

Maverick loved, Mr. Sniper in Hilton Hotel Room 2307 loved her.

Even though this relationship would eventually come to an end.

“Alright then,” Camila confidently replied, “I won’t ask any more questions.” I just want to

see you happy, Sherry.”

Sherry laughed, “You say it as if you’re my boyfriend.”

Camila smirked, “If I were a man, I would marry you without a second thought!”

After bidding farewell to Camila, Sherry headed to the hospital.

Chapter 38 Confirmation of identity

Her uncle’s injuries were severe, and he was often unconscious. When he did wake up,

he could only communicate his basic needs.

He was either hungry, thirsty, or needed to use the restroom.

Mr. Sniper was considerate; two of the four caregivers assigned to her uncle were

strong male attendants who could assist him in walking around the ward and using the

restroom.

Upon arriving, Sherry overheard a conversation in the ward.

She pushed the door open and saw her uncle standing there.

He was covered in dust, had a woven bag by his feet, and was talking to a male nurse.

“Jayden! You’re back!” Sherry’s eyes turned red.

“I’m sorry, Sherry,” Jayden Jimenez groaned as he spotted his niece. “I should have

returned sooner!

Jayden had been working out of town for many years, rarely going home, in order to

earn more money to send back and fulfill her uncle’s long–standing wish for him to

propose incense to her mother.

Jayden was furious when Sherry informed him about her uncle’s health. “There’s karma

in this world,” he said. “Sophia has no conscience, and she will be punished sooner or

later.“‘

“Whether or not she faces retribution no longer matters. I just hope Uncle recovers

quickly.”

“Sherry, hard work pays off,” Jayden murmured softly as he patted her head. “After all

these years, I have found some information about your father.”

Sherry bit her lower lip as she listened to him

“He should have studied landscape design in college and pursued the same field when

he abroad.” I inquired at his university, and a well–known graduate of their school

Went

recently returned to the area. He is a master of landscape design, and his last name is

Wilson. I calculated his age, and it matched.

Chapter 35 Confirmation Of Identity

The profession, school, last name Wilson, and age all aligned.

“Jayden, can you find out his full name?” Sherry asked.

3/8

“His full name is Nathan Wilson, Jayden said, nodding. “When your mother passed

away, she hesitated to say his full name and often mentioned singing. Your uncle and I

assumed she was hallucinating or wanted to hear singing. Now that I think about it, she

was probably calling for Nathan.”

Her cousin encouraged her to return home and recover while he stayed with her uncle.

Sherry paused for a moment before sending a text message to Mr. Sniper.

“I have arranged for someone to investigate this, Nathan,’ she received a response

soon after. “I’ll get back to you when I get home tonight.”

Chapter 1 Fallopian Tube Obstruction “What did I say? It’s your problem that you can’t conceive! Now that the test results are out, let’s see what you have to say!” Sherry Wilson’s grip on the test report wavered. When she saw the words “Blocked Fallopian Tubes” inscribed on it, she felt a chill from head to toe. After four years of marriage to Malcolm Ford, she still couldn’t get pregnant. Her mother-in-law pointed at her, with a furious look, implying that she was about to devour her. People passing by glanced at her as if she were a joke, pointing and gossiping, adding to the chaos. Malcolm was the only son of the Ford family, and she understood her mother-in-law’s desire for a grandson. So she had silently endured it all this time. “Mom,” Sherry said patiently, “let’s go home and talk.” “That’s my home, not yours. Get it straight! I have never recognized you as a member of the Ford family. You’re not worthy!” Her mother-in-law’s words were venomous. Sherry closed her eyes, feeling helpless. “We are legally married, and we have a marriage certificate.” “I’m telling you, Sherry, divorce Malcolm immediately! You won’t get a penny of the Ford family’s wealth!” As more people gathered around her, the sweltering weather and their piercing stares made her feel even more humiliated. Sherry took a deep breath, feeling helpless and hopeless.
