“Mateo, who chases after girls like you do?”
Once again, the door to the private room opened, and Maverick entered under the
waiter’s guidance.
He glanced at Sherry meaningfully and finally fixed his gaze on Camila.
But Mateo instantly became angry. “Maverick, what are you doing here?”
“Why can’t I?” Maverick withdrew his gaze and asked Sherry, “Ms. Wilson, may I add a
chair here?”
He was referring to the space between Sherry and Camila.
“Of course you can!” Sherry felt relieved, as if her savior had arrived, and she let out a
sigh of relief.
Camila cooperatively moved her chair to the side, making room for Maverick.

entertainment industry; you’re the one who has made so many superstars famous. And

Maverick frowned. “Ms. Castillo is married?”
Camila pursed her lips. “Well, how should I put it? I unilaterally announced that we’d be
married. My husband probably doesn’t even know who I am.”
“Sorry, I don’t quite understand.”
Camila shrugged. “What’s there not to understand? That member of your company’s
boy band, Christopher, the one who’s exceptionally handsome-I’m his fangirl! So, of

Maverick suddenly sneered. “So, Ms. Castillo’s idea of marriage is referring to this?”
“Otherwise?” Camila replied, “I’m still young; there are so many good dramas I haven’t
finished watching, so many fun games I haven’t played enough, and I still want to be a
fangirl. Why should I step into a solemn marriage? I wake up every morning and look at
my husband’s handsome photos. Life is blissful.”
“Nonsense!” Paul frowned and reprimanded lightly, “You have the audacity to say that!
Doing nothing all day and not feeling ashamed but proud. Starting tomorrow, you will
intern at the company.”
Camila immediately asked, “Dad, can I not go? I don’t understand anything about real
estate. Even if I go, I’ll be completely clueless.”
“No one is born perfect! You learn as you go! Let me tell you, Camila, there’s no
discussion about this. You’re already twenty-six and still haven’t achieved anything.”

I’ve liked him since he debuted!”
“So you must know a lot about Christopher?”
“Of course, I even know what brand of shower gel he likes.”
“Very good,” Maverick’s eyes sparkled. “Since you’re going to work, why not do
something you like and are good at? Christopher’s manager is currently training a new
artist, so there happens to be an opening. Ms. Castillo, are you interested in interning
as an agent at my company?”
Camila’s eyes widened instantly. “Oh my god is this for real? Are you really asking me to
be Christopher’s agent?”
Maverick nodded. “Will you agree to it?”
“Yes!” Camila immediately threw herself into Paul’s arms, half coquettish and half

pleading, “Dad, I want to intern at Mr. Morgan’s company! Even if I don’t get paid, I’ll still
go! Even if I have to pay, I’ll still go! I love working; I love overtime; I want to be a
hardworking good girl.”
Her persistent pestering infuriated Paul, who pushed her away. “This isn’t home; can
you please be more mindful of your image, my little princess?”
“Oh,” Camila obediently let go of him, “Dad, does that mean you agree?”
Paul couldn’t directly refuse in front of Maverick.
He now had a slight idea of who Maverick was. He was a figure who dominated the
entertainment industry both domestically and internationally. And he was interested in
his silly daughter?
Maverick and Mateo seemed to have the same idea. They both took a liking to these
two girls. Were they planning to bring these two girls into their lives?
But his daughter was still dazed and couldn’t tell which way was up. It was clear that
Sherry had rejected him.

He was a bit confused about the intention behind these two brothers insisting on
having this dinner.
Sherry listened quietly on the side, but she couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
When Maverick arrived, he diverted attention away from her by chatting with Camila.
After finishing their meal, Camila took Sherry by the hand and said, “Sherry, I’ll walk you
home.”.
Sherry nodded.
However, Maverick said, “Let me take both of you home. Mateo, you can escort Mr.
Castillo for a bit.”
“Why should I be the one to escort him?” Mateo objected. “I still have something to say
to Sherry, but you’ve disrupted my train of thought.”
Maverick glared at him and said, “There’s nothing else to say. That’s it. If you have
anything else to say, tell me when you get home tonight.*

Camila and Sherry, one trying to avoid her own father and the other trying to avoid
Mateo, quickly got into Maverick’s car, hand in hand.
Paul smiled and said, “Mr. Mateo, can I trouble you today?”
Mateo watched as Sherry’s figure disappeared into the car with Maverick, gritting his
teeth in frustration. “It’s fine, no trouble.”
The journey was silent.
Maverick dropped off Camila at her home first, then drove Sherry to the Hilton Hotel.

“I apologize for the inconvenience caused by Mateo. I will have a conversation with him.
about it,” Maverick stated.
Sherry sat in the backseat, curling up her legs, and softly responded, “Okay. Erm… what
would you like to have for dinner tonight? It’s still early, I can go to the supermarket and
buy some dishes that you enjoy.”
Maverick’s reply was vague. “Just the usual is fine.”

Sherry nodded. “I must express my gratitude for what you did for my uncle. It was

thoughtful of you to arrange for the blood plasma to be sent from elsewhere. If Sophia
had encountered any issues, my uncle would have been in trouble. Why didn’t you
inform me about it? You have helped me and my family repeatedly… I don’t know how I
can repay you.”
“Wen…” Maverick wanted to address her as “Ms. Wilson,” but he restrained himself. He
couldn’t even speak to her affectionately, so he could only offer his advice, “Please take
good care of yourself and the baby. By the way, have you informed Mateo about your
pregnancy?”
Sherry shook her head. “I don’t want to create any more problems. It’s probably best not
to say anything. What do you think? Should I let him know?”
“Let it go,” Maverick replied. “I will find an opportunity to talk to him.”
“Okay, I will follow your advice.”
